Services
You can call us by telephone at any time or you can call at our office or alternatively we can call to see you at home. Together, we will go through all the necessary arrangements step by step, taking into consideration your wishes and requirements and, where appropriate, the expressed wishes of the deceased.
The formal ceremony is of little value or comfort if you are left with the feeling that something, no matter what, has been left out. Whilst this may seem unlikely at this time with all the different things that seemingly need to be done, remember that there is no need to hurry anything. A hasty decision may lead to regrets for a long time to come.
What is a direct cremation? A direct cremation is ideal for those who would prefer a simpler funeral. A direct cremation is different to a traditional funeral as there is no funeral service beforehand and no one present at the cremation. Your loved one will be collected from their place of rest and cared for with the upmost respect.
I just wanted to say on behalf of the family a very big thank you for all the support and kindness extended to us regarding arrangements for our dear Mum's funeral. We especially would like to give thanks to Kim who was always at the end of the phone to answer all our questions and guide us through the whole process.
The first person to contact is your doctor (or the doctor on duty) who will certify that the death has taken place and, if he or she is able, will issue a Medical Certificate of the Cause of Death (Death Certificate). However, if the death is unexpected, the doctor may refer the matter to the Coroner.

Alexander Burn dealt with both my fathers funeral and recently my mothers. I cannot recommend them highly enough. They are so caring, professional and kind. They kept me informed of all processes and were always happy to respond to any queries. Special thanks to Will, who directed the service so smoothly and calmly, he is a star! From the moment Will answered the telephone I knew that we would be well cared for by everyone at Alexander Burn. Our situation was different as I am a Funeral Celebrant, and delivered the service, but Will took this in his stride and worked with me to ensure that every aspect of the service was exactly as my Father-in-Law had planned it to be. They even wheeled in the coffin (my Father-in-Law didn't want to be jigged around on people's shoulders)! I cannot recommend Will, Sam and everyone at Alexander Burn, highly enough. The staff at alexander burn. From the collection of my fathers body on th 26th of march to the funeral on the 20th of april and the days following have been amazing the support they have showen my family in this sad time is terrific. You never no who to turn to in times like this and i no myself and all my faily would recomed them highley. A big thank you to all the team at Alexander Burn.
