Achieving excellence in early years' care and education, in a friendly, caring, welcoming and stimulating environment which values diversity and works in partnership with parents to help children to learn and develop under the umbrella of 'every child matters'. Our current staff are displayed in the lobby.
If your child is unwell or has an infection please keep them at home and inform us as to the nature of the infection so that we can alert other parents. Please do not bring into the preschool any child who has been vomiting or had diarrhoea until at least 48 hours has elapsed since the last episode.
Play helps young children to learn and develop through doing and talking, which research has shown to be the means by which young people learn to think. Our setting uses the Early Years Foundation Stage document to plan and provide a range of play activities which help children to make progress in each of the areas of learning and development.
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets standards for learning and development and care of children from birth to 5 years old. The Early Years Foundation Stage framework supports an integrated approach to early learning and care. It gives all professionals a set of common principles and commitments to deliver quality early education and childcare experiences to all children.
Prior to starting at preschool we like to visit the child in their home, the key person will visit and talk to the child, run through a basic induction sheet of likes/dislikes, what they are able to do etc. with parents. We find this helpful when the child starts and settles in. Following the home visit where the child is in familiar surroundings, we want your child to feel happy and safe at the preschool.
