Y Branwen
At the foot of Castle Harlech, Y Branwen nestles below UNESCO World Heritage Town, located within the Snowdonia National Park. The hotel's position on the northern part of breath-taking Cardigan Bay means there are miles of spectacular sandy beaches, mountains and forests only a few minutes walk away.

The train station is a few moments walk and can take you to nearby Barmouth or Porthmadog along the stunning coastal line. At Porthmadog you can change onto the Heritage Railways to explore Snowdonia. Snowdon itself is within sight on a fine day, but there are a vast array of other splendours to visit in the area, indeed you can spend days just walking from the hotel itself in the hills above Harlech or our famous 5 mile long sandy beach.
Services
All 7 rooms have super-king beds, luxurious toiletries and a fine selection of teas and coffee along with welcoming homemade biscuits. We can offer Twin rooms but these can ONLY be booked directly with us and not via any site online. We are dog friendly throughout the premises and are not suitable for anyone with dog allergies.
Y branwen has a seasonal changing menu, created with only the freshest ingredients and made in house using local Welsh produce whenever possible. Please note we do not have a children's menu and are a quiet adult focus venue that does not cater for children. Food is served both inside and out in our completely dog friendly setting.

Absolutely loved it here! my boyfriend and i stayed for our first holiday out of england and the place was great :) the food was perfect and the dogs there kept us lovely company! ((ps. they are so adorable!)) there are lively little shops nearby as well as being local to a beach. would definitely recommend going if you need a nice and comfortable sleep as well as a good time. the staff were absolutely welcoming too!

A warm welcome from start to finish. Comfy room with a Queen size bed. Perfect location for walking to Harlech Beach or travelling the North West coastline. Food was amazing and the fillet steak was the best I ever had in a restaurant. Very dog friendly. Suki had an amazing time too. Lovely kind people. I will be back one day.

I went to Harlech for the weekend. Came to this pub and asked if we could eat, I was asked if I had booked and I replied no. So I was told I couldn't eat. I asked if we can drink and was told yes, was then directed to a table where we ended up staying for over and hour and had a couple of drinks. Felt uncomfortable that we were allowed to sit for drinks only. It wasn't busy and we could have eaten in the time we were there. Didn't go back and won't in the future.

Very nice hotel in Harlech. The staff are very friendly and, should you have a canine friend, they're dog friendly too. The food was excellent, although the portion sizes aren't hugely generous. Pro tip: in these COVID times, you'll need a face covering whilst you're not seated (this looks to apply to most of Harlech.) Pro tip 2: there aren't a lot of places to eat in the local area, so be organised, because otherwise finding food can be interesting in the summer...

Firmly told rudely..WE DO NOT CATER for CHILDREN!!!!!! Never heard of such a thing in 50+ years of dining experience.
menu looked interesting but obviously of no use to children. We weren't asked their age..could have been 14 say? Wonder what the cut off age is!! This is in the outback if West Wales of course!
