First of all this pub/restaurant is in an amazing setting next to a stream within a small village. It has some great views around and would be fantastic in the summer.
The staff were friendly to us but service was not the best in respect of speed and attention.
Our food was not great, it didn't get off to a good start when a fair few starters were not available as well as a main course. We had a lunch sitting at 1530 so not knowing exactly how to procure food for a menu, I can't comment any further.
I opted for the haddock Kiev starter which turned out to be breaded fish fingers. For main I

Thinking of going here for a roast dinner on a Sunday? Do it! It'll be the best decision you make. Lovely roast dinner. Great variety and good quality food. Also, massive portions. A quirky place. Friendly staff. Book in advance though as it was fully booked when we went. Lovely stream outside too if you want to enjoy a couple of beverages with a nice view.

We went for the Dog & Cider festival, which was really well organised - the band were great & the dog show was really well run. Unfortunately, the staff in the cider tent were awful. I’d said that the mango cider wasn’t great (understatement - it was horrendous) and please could I order a more traditional cider, when the petite brunette started shouting at me and the tattooed brunette slid in with some eye rolls, sarcastic remarks and the most patronising smile I’ve seen a person don. Very unlucky to have two such rude people at one stall; I know the hospitality industry is struggling for

We visited The Springhead on a recommendation from a friend for a Sunday carvery.
We had just come out of lockdown and booked beforehand for a table inside.
It was well organised, we were seen ontime and down to a table near the bar, which is the original part of the pub.
The carvery was brought to us, plate full and piled high.
The village itself is beautiful and also worth a walk around.
