Children make good progress in the Early Years Foundation Stage in developing skills, independence and learning habits. On behalf of the children, staff and governors, I am very proud to be able to share with you the wonderful opportunities and developments at Bourne Primary School. Bourne Primary School is a vibrant school at the heart of its community where children are enthusiastic and motivated to achieve endless possibilities.
The children are at the heart of every decision we make to ensure that they are happy, confident and that the opportunities that are provided for them are relevant to their needs both now and for the future. Through our engaging values- based curriculum, we ensure that children foster a passion for learning and curiosity that will help them to develop high aspirations and a lifetime of memories.

Services
Schools have a vital role to play in helping to create a more equitable society. Ensuring equality is the first step towards this equitable society. Bourne Primary School is a values-based school and through this lens we teach children of a love for everyone, an appreciation for and respect of differences, to be thoughtful about our behaviour and to be kind to everyone.
We want to inspire confident, life-long learners who are active agents for positive change and equality. In 2024 Bourne Primary will be a school where we have pupils making exceptional progress, no matter their starting point, so that they are fully prepared for, and able to thrive in, the next stage of their education.
We began the Peer Mediation service at Bourne earlier this year. Pupils are trained in conflict resolution techniques to help resolve low level conflicts, address bullying, and prevent arguments in the playground. Peer Mediation is a powerful, positive initiative because it offers effective life skills, conflict resolution tools and support to anti-bullying strategies.
At Bourne we focus on a set of shared values which help us to work with one another co-operatively and with respect. We learn the importance of friendship and unity, and how to approach life with positivity and hope. These values make our school community happy and harmonious, a fun place, where children feel secure.
Application forms for nursery places are available from the school and should be returned to the school on completion. Children can enter the nursery between their 3rd and 4th birthday. We have 20 places in the morning and 20 places in the afternoon sessions. An 'age order' waiting list is maintained for the nursery.
