This report is designed to inform you of the different types of support available for your child at The Oaks CP School. How does The Oaks CP School approach the teaching of children with Special Educational Needs and/or a Disability (SEND)?
All pupils in school receive quality first teaching, this means that a range of teaching and learning styles are used and that appropriate learning objectives are set for all children with a curriculum matched to their needs.Some children require specific interventions in small groups or on a one to one basis.

The Governing Board at our school is an active body of enthusiastic volunteers who have our children's best interests at heart. They work tirelessly to support our ethos of "Bringing Learning to Life" and ensure that all aspects of governorship are focused to this end. Each individual member of the Board brings their own area of expertise into school to support learning.
Friends of The Oaks is a group made up of parents, grandparents and 'friends' of The Oaks. Over the course of the year this fundraising group plan a number activities for the pupils, parents and families of The Oaks. All of the money raised by Friends of The Oaks is used to benefit the children through purchasing additional resources.
At The Oaks, we believe that children learn most effectively when they are engaged in purposeful, practical activities that they enjoy and see as relevant to their world. We provide the very best of these experiences within a rich and varied curriculum. We have an excellent reputation for recognising and nurturing talent and providing opportunities to develop new skills.
The DfE have reinforced the need "to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs." The Government set out its definition of British values in the 2011 Prevent Strategy, and these values have been reiterated in 2014.

Absolutely superb! Our child attended this school for about two last month of year 2015, we received a warm welcome from everyone in The Oaks primary, All the staff been really really helpful and supported our child in the all aspects and the children been so so friendly. That was a great pleasure to meet all these lovely people and a great experience for our child who enjoyed every second of being in such a well organised, peaceful and professional place!
The Oaks primary in Bolton definitely is one of the best in the country.
