We ensure we understand the individual needs, interests, and stage of development of each child and use this information to plan challenging and enjoyable experiences in all of the areas of learning and development.
We appreciate that a rich and varied environment supports children's learning and development. It gives them the confidence to explore and learn in safe and secure, and at the same time challenging, indoor and outdoor spaces. It has been a complete privilege for our son to attend Lady Castle Nursery over the past two years.
Whilst the Baby Bee (under 2's), Honey Bee (2-3yrs) and Busy Bee areas (3-4yrs) provide a base for registration, Circle Time and lunch, children enjoy free flow play throughout the day. Children move freely through the open plan environment with easy access to the secure outside play area. This provides more space and freedom to explore whilst helping them to develop greater independence and building confidence.
The Nursery maintains close links with the Girls' Grammar School and as such makes regular use of their 25m swimming pool and facilities. Swimming lesson are available for children once per week and are run by nursery staff who are all confident swimmers and have passed their Royal Society LifeSaving Award.
The grassy woodland provides both an exciting opportunity for exploration and investigation and a calming and relaxing place away from the hustle and bustle of the nursery. Children have access to this area all year round which helps them develop a love of nature and a real understanding of the changing seasons.
