What a lovely place! Comfortable room, clean and cosy, scrumptious breakfasts (best poached eggs I've had in a long time), friendly attentive proprietors who make you feel really welcome. But it's the attention to detail that gives Hawksmoor the 5th star for me. Clever little ideas like a tiny motion sensor light over the door to the en-suite so you can see where you're going in the middle of the night, plenty of power sockets in sensible places around the room, some with USB sockets included so you can charge your electronics easily. Or the bottle opener on the tea tray. And I don't recall ever

We couldn’t have asked for a better stay at the Hawksmoor guest house. The owners Trevor and Philippa were very welcoming and great hosts. The balcony room that we stayed in was modern, clean and had all the essentials that you would need and the breakfast was incredible . Finally the location was perfect with a short walk to both the lake and the village
