At St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, we are very proud of our children and believe we have much to celebrate. We have the aspirational belief that all children will achieve excellence and develop a love of learning to take with them through the rest of their lives. Within our community, we share a vision of a life based on Christ centered virtues that seeks to enable all pupils in our school community to flourish.
We provide our children with a range of exciting learning opportunities to enable them to develop and grow into becoming well rounded global citizens and by creating a learning environment where children are confident to take risks, we prepare them well for their future. Within our ethos, we offer a wide range of opportunities and experiences in and out of the classroom to develop and inspire our pupils as young learners.

Services
Thank you God our father, for our school, and all the people in it. Help us to make it a happy and safe place to be, where people look after and respect each other. The Heavenly Father chose Joseph, a young carpenter of Nazareth, to be the foster father of Jesus and the husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Collective Worship is a core aspect of our schools catholic identity. The importance of spending time in the presence of God has been fundamental to the Catholic way of life for centuries. Here at St Joseph's, we ensure that our children have broad and varied opportunities to experience God through prayer and worship.
As part of our RE Curriculum, children are regularly given the opportunity to explore topics in a more creative way. Here are some examples of children's work from different classes being creative in RE. Each year our School joins other primary schools in the Bishop Konstant Catholic Academy Trust to share a themed week.
We deliver our RE lessons with the support of the Diocesan recommended scheme, 'The Way, The Truth and The Life'. This scheme teaches and supports the children with the principles of the Catholic faith. To see this in more detail, please visit our Religious Education section of the website. In English we teach a broad curriculum covering reading, writing, grammar, handwriting and speaking and listening.
In Art, we draw on local features, national and international artists to develop a love for all things creative, using different forms of media. Our programme is based on a series of progressive skills, and by the end of Year 6, our children will have a deep understanding and appreciation of the work of inspirational and local artists.
