We respect their age and personal dignity and do our best to create a loving and cheerful atmosphere in which they can feel safe and valued. At Taptonholme we provide a caring environment in which the 19 residents can live as independent a life as possible. We are small enough to provide homely and individual care, but just large enough to have all the best facilities.

We encourage family and friends to visit as often as they like. Taptonholme is a large Victorian House situated in the delightful suburb of Broomhill. It has been modernised but still retains much of its character. It was originally opened in 1947 as a home for retired people. It is a Registered Charity which is completely independent and relies entirely upon its own resources for its funding.
Services
We will be delighted to personalise residents' rooms and we encourage them to bring their own treasured personal items and furniture to make their room as comforting and familiar as possible. Residents may have telephones in their rooms to help keep in touch with family. The home is situated on a quiet private crescent near to Broomhill library and has its own mature and secluded garden where residents can and are encouraged to sit out.
We have a very low turnover of staff which we believe speaks for itself. Our Manager, Mrs Karen Walker who holds a Registered Managers Award and Advanced Management in CareDiploma has been our Home Manager for over 13 Years. Our Assistant Manager holds the QCF Level 5 and has been at the Home over 14years, having worked her way up from being a junior carer.
We have two lounges where residents can sit during the day; a large Lounge overlooking the front garden and a smaller rear lounge. They can also enjoy the privacy of their own room or sit in the Dining room. A Lift serves all floors.

There is a ramp to the front door which enables those with mobility issues or in wheel chairs to access the garden, including specifically the sensory garden, and there is wheel chair access throughout the inside of the Home.We have a timetable of activities which are arranged by a member of staff, the Activities co-ordinator.
We hope you like the idea of making Taptonholme a home for you or your loved one, whether for a short time or longer. The best way to see if it is right for you is to come and visit us - we would love to meet you and you are welcome anytime. If you think we are right for your family then we will get you settled in or you can start with a trial period or a spell of respite care.

My mum and dad stayed over Christmas and were so well cared for. I am so very grateful for all that the workers did. Nothing was too much trouble and they were extremely kind. They would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others
