We are a family business working to provide better care and places for people to stay and live happy and fulfilling lives. We set up Horizon when a family member was living with Alzheimer's and needed care. Our family ethos is the cornerstone of our approach to care. It governs every aspect of our work.
Services
We believe in thinking differently about how we care for people and the homes we provide for people to live in. We also think it's important to challenge the norms of care. We do this by building beautifully designed environments and caring for people like they are our family. Our services offer bespoke pathways of care to support people to live the life they choose, in the way they want to live it.
Horizon follows Teepa Snow's Positive Approach to Care. A positive approach to care starts with recognising that it is the responsibility of the care giver and provider to change their approach to the person living with dementia rather than seek their change. Through this our team have the ability to positively support individuals displaying complex behaviours.
We give special attention to the design and layout of our purpose-built centres and homes. Our approach begins with people having open and accessible spaces to spend time on their own. We also offer spaces to welcome friends and family and the wider community into their homes. Our environments offer safe and secure locations and gardens where family and friends can be confident loved ones are protected from harm.
