Elwood & Capper Ltd Independent Funeral Directors & Memorial Masons was established in 2005 by Brian Elwood & David Capper. The company has grown with the introduction of Deborah Lilley & William Greer. Deborah & William, along with David, have studied in and been awarded the Diploma in Funeral Service through the British Institute of Funeral Directors.
James Elwood (Brian's grandfather), conducted his first ever funeral during the winter of 1928. He used a horse drawn vegetable cart, that he borrowed from his cousin in Colin Mountain to take the coffin to Derriaghy Churchyard. Times and traditions have changed since then. Horses have given way to the motor vehicle and roads.

We all know that the cost of living is increasing, but do we think of the costs attached after we have passed? It's not the most cheerful subject. However, it is something we will all need to consider at some point in our lives, especially as the overall cost of dying in Northern Ireland has increased by a staggering 57% since 2007.
The Elwood & Capper Funeral Church was officially opened and dedicated during the spring of 2007 by members of the local clergy, making it a dedicated religious building. The Church which has available seating for up to 50 people offers a space for an intimate and personal funeral service, whether religious or non-religious.
