I am very proud of our school and have seen it go from strength to strength in the time that I have been here. Wood End is a small and nurturing school; as our motto says: 'Nurturing acorns into sturdy oaks.' We endeavour to nurture your children ready for the next stage in their education. Our school is special in many ways.
Our Foundation Stage class ensures that children reach a Good Level of Development, which has been consistently above the National Average for the past 4 years. Through child-initiated activities and planning in the moment, we capture the interests of the children and meet individual needs. Reading and phonics is taught through Read Write Inc.

The DfE have recently reinforced the need 'to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.' The Government set out its definition of British values in the 2011 PREVENT Strategy, and these values were reiterated by then Prime Minister David Cameron.
I just wanted to let you know that my daughter has told me the last few days that she's a bit worried about going back to school in case no one will play with her. She then told me that it's okay if no-one does because Miss Jade and Miss Anne are her 'best friends ever' and always play with her. I cannot express enough how reassuring this is to know that my daughter refers to her teachers as not only friends but best friends!
In Milton Keynes the admissions policy for all primary schools operates on a first preference basis. This means that parents must complete a preference form. If you live within the school's defined area the application will be given priority. Milton Keynes Council operates a one point of entry policy for children entering school for the first time.
In addition to regular sessions, for an extra fee we are pleased to offer afternoon social activities for Pre-School and school-age children. Lunchtime childcare: No need to book in advance. Children at Pre-School morning sessions can bring in their own packed lunch and eat together. A fun way to improve social skills.
ParentMail also makes it much easier for Pre-School parents to organise payment (2.40 per meal). 1. Check the ParentMail app. Accounts > Dinners > Statements (used to say History - it's at the bottom right). This takes you to the calendar month - tap on that and it will show you what you've requested for each individual day.
