Orchard Park Childrens Nursery
We use Scottish Pre-birth to 3 guidelinesfor our under 3's and Curriculum for Excellence for our older children. Experiences are planned to develop emotional, personal and social skills, science and discovery, physical play, manipulative skills, domestic and imaginative play, language and numeric experiences, drama and creative activities along with cultural and religious traditions.

Our Nurseries are bright and welcoming. You will see the children involved and engaged in challenging experiences and using a variety of equipment in a safe and secure environment. When you are researching Nurseries for your child, we know, at Orchard Park Nursery you will want to spend a lot of time in the playroom and ask plenty of questions.
Services
With parental support, self-esteem is developed through an awareness of hygiene, diet, exercise and personal safety. The nursery provides a vast array of expressive arts resources. The children are provided with opportunities through language and other curricular areas to express thoughts and feelings in pictures, paintings and 3D models using a variety of media and techniques.
The children meet regularly with 'People Who Help Us', the post person, community police, fire personnel, shopkeepers and educators. They develop a concept of time through on going nursery routines and changes in season, which are always topic related. The children learn to care for living things and are introduced to the wonders of nature through our links with local park rangers.
The journey through education for any child in Scotland must include opportunities for a series of planned, quality outdoor learning experiences. Curriculum for Excellence at Orchard Park Nursery offers opportunities for all our children and young people to enjoy first-hand experience outdoors, whether within the nursery grounds, in urban greenspaces, in Scotland's countryside or in wilder environments.
At Orchard Park Nursery the children enjoy visits to the local parks, library and shops. We have visited Blair Drummond Safari Park and the Glasgow Science Park. We regularly become involved in charities such as Comic Relief, Children in Need and Waddle Toddle for meningitis. We hold celebrations for Burns, St Andrews and all major religious events throughout the year and we have visits to the nursery from performing artists.
Our Chicks area provides a warm, nurturing environment where each baby's emotional, social and sensory development is encouraged in a holistic manner. To assist with ensuring that each child feels happy and secure within the nursery we have a Key Worker scheme to help children settle in; to ensure continuity of care and to facilitate the partnership with parents and carers.
