I've put a good review a while ago, but have now taken it down and considering changing my goto taxi company. . The service is greatly deteriorating. This week I've had 1) a driver without a mask and not only this is required by law but also showing complete disrespect for the clients and 2) seen a cyclist in daylight almost hit by a royal car not slowing down at a roundabout. In the future I'll note down the license plates. You better review your internal policies drastically.

I had a very bad experience with royal cars that stopped me from using their service all together. It was on Christmas day, I was stuck on the road as it was no bus available and it was snowing and very cold. Just wanted to get home. Called royal cars to book a taxi. The operator was awfully rude. And because I didn’t have a post code as I was in the middle of the road, he told me “ ring back when you have an address “ and hung the phone up on me ! Although I explained my location and where I was exactly, even the name of the road I was in. Which was horrendous for a taxi company!! And to

Journey into Oxford was great, lovely driver, however on the return journey, the driver had his meter on the "for hire" setting which did not display a price. We were then told a ridiculous amount which we had no way of contesting. I have seen this tactic employed in my home city, "Oh sorry, I forgot to switch on the meter". We have been visiting Oxford every year for the last eight years and have always used this company, Just be careful of rogue drivers trying to swindle you, make sure they have their meter switched on all the way through the journey.

All seemed good when we booked, online tracking accurate and car arrived on time. Then the problems started, instead of a warm welcome or even a hello we got a driver shouting at us. Apparently he would lose his licence if he took 8 people in a car with a capacity for 8 people! Refused to listen to reason and was instead abusive and rude. We offered for some of us to get the bus instead but this wasn't good enough for him and he continued to shout at us. Decided instead to all take the bus and he told us to get out and go away. Never had such a negative experience in all my life and not a great

Unprofessional on multiple occasions and seem to have forgotten that they are a service business.
I rang for a fare heading into Oxford specifying that I had a small dog with us and this was acknowledged and okay on the phone. The taxi driver arrives and spots the dog, doesn't stop to pick us up and drives off without saying anything before he could. If the traffic light wasn't red I wouldn't have caught up with the car to find out that he personally doesn't take dogs. I then had to call the firm up again to coordinate another driver , bit sloppy really.
On the way back out of Oxford at the end

Used them on multiple occasions this week. So promptly available we often had to scramble to meet them. Excellent tracking and good automated rebooking system. Very good value and good, professional drivers. Modern cars in good condition. Haven't tried the app.

Critical: Punctuality, Quality
Pre-booked a cab that still hasn't turned up over 45min after it was meant to. Spoke to the call centre several times and they were unable to help and send me a car. Have now completely missed the event I was meant to be attending, will definitely not be using this taxi service again.

We used Royal Cars for a total of 6 journeys across a weekend. Although we only received a text giving arrival progress for four or five journeys, every car was prompt, they were all immaculately presented and smelt fresh and clean, and the drivers were all well-groomed and personable, friendly and knowledgeable. We felt very safe using this company, and were pleased with the fare scales. I believe all the cars were either electric or hybrid, perhaps excepting the 8-seater needed for when we made a party of 5. I believe that was a Mercedes, I don't know what sort of engine.

Horrible experience with this company. Had booked a taxi to meet my husband and children at Heathrow and drive them to Oxford. The plane landed at 7:30, and the agreed upon meeting time inside the terminal was at 8:45. The driver showed up around 9:30. I called the company several times and spoke to several people, all unpleasant and eager to get me off the phone. Their response was that there was "no problem" and that the driver was at the airport looking for parking. They did not acknowledge any responsibility in the tardiness and gave the impression that they could not care less.

Don't hire a taxi from this company. I used it the very first day I was in Oxford and since I look very young I was scammed. I complained about the price (barely 0.5km) for 10 pounds without big luggage and the driver said with a smile "just get used to it, this place is expensive". As a frequent cyclist, they have the worst consideration for cyclists I have ever seen. They don't care about our safety at all and they are utterly rude. Just get Uber instead or hire a bike.

If you want a taxi anywhere in oxford...take a bike or walk. The Royal Cars driver's are the worst I have experienced. Try to book a ride without a definitive address and you will be hung up upon....not helpful if you don't know the area or visiting.

Appalling service. The worst taxi company I've had the misfortune of dealing with. We booked a taxi the day before to pick up outside Oxford. The taxi turned up 40 mins late afte repeated calls to the driver and the office. We were lied to repeatedly about where the taxi was When the taxi did finally get to us, the driver spent the entire journey texting his friends with the phone on his knee. When we reached the destination, he wanted more money than we had previously agreed. He then physically threatened us when we refused to pay In all, if you want to be late, driven illegally and then

Nice drivers, but very rude and nasty office that means will go elsewhere in future.
They really upset me, almost like a school bully and left me speechless.
Used them once and were fine, but office were very nasty second time and will look elsewhere if need cab in future.
I could not believe they were so nasty on the phone. It may be stressful running a mini cab firm, but don't take it out on your customers.
