Flanagans
For a family-friendly restaurant and bar with excellent food, real ale, freshly ground coffee and an outside eating area with spectacular views of the beach and Sandown Bay, you can't do better than come to Flanagan's on Pier Street. Our extensive menu offers everything from sandwiches and omelettes to salmon and steaks with a full roast dinner on Sundays.

Avoid all the kitchen hassle this weekend, come down and have your Sunday Roast prepared for you by our wonderful chefs. There'll be no washing up either! We visited the Isle of Wight and were staying close to the pier. We decided on arrival to have a bit of lunch and then enjoyed it so much went back again for dinner.
Services
There's been an eating house of one sort or another overlooking the beach at 7 Pier Street for about 100 years. We regularly review our menu, keeping many old favourites but offering a wide selection of new ideas. Our Chef's Specials are something to look out for and the Sunday Roasts are not to be missed.

Lovely view over the sea, dog friendly anywhere inside which is an added bonus, not expensive with good quality of food.

Pleasantly surprised. We weren't sure about going in but a nice young man came to the door to assure us they did food. The place looks a bit basic, but the staff are friendly and helpful and the food is good. I had the lasagne and it was tasty and an added bonus, it wasn't microwaved!

It's a pub, lovely setting nice staff, very helpful. Considering the place was absolutely heaving which was due to the local hotel restaurant kitchen having an issue the staff coped quite well. We order 2 X rump steak which they has run out of but substituted with fillet. Done to perfection. The peas could have done with turning up at the same time as the steak but considering the number of covers on the hole the staff did well. We found out afterwards it was the chefs night off and the kitchens were being run by the apprentice chef's. Fair play guy's you did well.

Good selection of beers on tap, good location and layout but poor quality food and manager hostile to criticism.
Pictures -
"Chicken burger & chips" (dry, bland and unappetising. Left uneaten).
"Baked potato & tuna" (seemed more like a part boiled potato with a leathery skin. Refunded).
Final verdict - Pop in for a quick pint then go elsewhere for food.
Shame.

We booked a table and went for a Saturday dinner. They gave us a nice table with a view of the beach. Service was alright. The food that we ordered was not great. The best ones were the french loaf that came with the stilton cheese broccoli soup and the garlic bread that came with the lasagne.
The food could have been better if the melted cheese was cooked more to make the top brown and crispy. This was not the case for both the lasagne and the cheese fries as you can see from the pictures. The dishes were loaded with too much undercooked cheese. The fries under the cheese was pretty undercooked

Went for dinner. Exceeded expectations for pub food. Everything was fresh and cooked well. Tasted great. Friendly staff too. Has outdoor seating with a seaside view.
