Over 10,000 pet owners in the Gravesend and North Kent area trust us with the health of their pets and we know our clients expect their pet to receive a top quality service from an experienced veterinary team. We are proud of our reputation for old fashioned care and cutting edge medicine. We know that people make the difference between a good and an excellent veterinary practice so we invest heavily in training.
All our veterinary surgeons and qualified nurses keep up to date with advances in veterinary care by attending regular professional development courses. We are an accredited veterinary nurse training practice able to train our student nurses right through to qualification. We are open to see your pet if you are concerned, 7 days a week 365 days a year, and we will see most small exotic species including reptiles and birds.

Services
We've been providing outstanding veterinary care in Gravesend and North Kent for over 60 years. Our practice is currently co-owned by David Mason, who took over ownership in 2005 having worked at the practice since 1977. David maintains that the veterinary profession was a natural choice for him as he grew up around animals; one of his grandfathers was a farmer and the other a stud groom.
Natalie joined The Shrubbery in 2011, She became Clinical Director and part owner of the practice in 2015. As well as running the practice Natalie take part in consults and surgeries every day.
Natalie particular interest is internal medicine, including geriatric care indeed Natalie's previous dog Sherka had a number of issues related to her age and so Natalie has a particular interest in managing pets with chronic pain and carries out acupuncture treatments on animals in practice. She also carries out audits to maintain our high standards of care.

We are open to see your pet if you are concerned, 7 days a week 365 days a year. In addition to our cat and dog clients, we also see most small exotic species, including birds and reptiles. Visit us at a convenient time - we are open on Sunday mornings and until 6.30pm most evenings for routine appointments.
Requests completed after 2pm will be looked at the following day, which might add one day to the above statement. Please be aware that animals on medication require regular checkups and if your animal is due for a check-up we might not be able to dispense the medication. We've been providing outstanding veterinary care in Gravesend and North Kent for over 60 years.
Pets provide us with hours of fun, as well as unconditional love and companionship, but they can't always make it clear when they have a problem. It's therefore really important that you bring them in to see us for a regular health check so that we can ensure they stay happy and healthy, and that any early concerns can be addressed before they become serious.

Very helpful and kind , we went for my doggies first appointment , registering here very recently .
They were very kind and bought out a chair to sit on outside as you can't go in with your pets .
Paperwork straight forward and reception and vet were very friendly and helpful .
I've signed up for the monthly pet plan which is extremely good value and covers alot during the year .
For a small dog it's about 13.00 a month by direct debit and the first month an added admin charge of 5.00 is put on.
Vixen was very nervous but as I say they made her feel welcome and more relaxed .
