We also work closely with consultants at The Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch hospitals when carrying out the shared care scheme for glaucoma. We also offer our exclusive Visioncare plan, which at 10 per month allows complete clinical access and gives emergency cover if needed.

Services
The practice was founded in 1950 and has been located on Bargates since 1955. Situated in our beautiful Victorian building, originally erected for The Mayor of Christchurch, the practice has its own ample car park and is fully wheelchair accessible. We are constantly investing in the very latest ophthalmic equipment to provide you with some of the most up to date clinical facilities available.
He is a registered member of The General Optical Council, The College of Optometrists, The Association of Optometrists, The British Contact Lens Association and is also a member of the Local Optometric Committee. He has also passed the PLA set by the Canadian Examiners in Optometry and was offered a place on the International Bridging Programme.
At Raxworthy Visioncare we take a personal approach to your eyecare. Our optometrists take the time to understand your individual sight requirements, as such we know many of our clients on first name basis and have forged lifelong friendships with them. Regular eye examinations are the best way to detect eye health problems such as diabetes, cataracts and glaucoma.
Raxworthy Opticians are the first and only optometry practice to bring OCT retinal imaging to Christchurch. OCT stands for Optical Coherence Tomography. It is the next generation in imaging the internal structures of the eye. The OCT is a special scanner similar to an ultrasound / MRI scanner which uses light to produce a three-dimensional image of inside the eye.
Visioncare and Visioncare For Lenses were set up to allow our clients unlimited access to all of our services any time they like. Whether it's for regular eye examinations or treatments, contact lens examinations, blepharitis & dry eye follow ups, even the monitoring of conditions using OCT retinal imaging.
