At least 15 million working days were lost in UK in 2013 due to stress, anxiety or depression. People who struggle to continue to work while they suffer any mental health problems are inevitably not doing their job to the best of their ability. They are more likely to make mistakes, feel unable to make decisions, make poor decisions, have inter-personal conflict with their clients or colleagues, and create more problems for their managers.
After a very slippery slope with my mental health I'd begun to think I'd never get back on top. Even with a couple of sessions I feel more in control. I can't thank you enough. When starting the sessions with my psychologist my life was what can only be described as a hellish experience, not only from not being able to leave the house and struggling to be alone, but also not being able to enjoy anything for fear of having panic attacks.
All of the evidence-based forms of psychological therapy are offered by The Rooms. These include CBT, EMDR, CAT, the 'Third Wave' of CBT therapies, (including Mindfulness) and Counselling. We are able to provide assessments for Autistic Spectrum Disorders and ADHD, as well as neuro-psychological problems.
Normally our therapy sessions are face to face and take place at The Rooms in Poynton as this is our preferred way to undertake therapy. If this is not possible for you we will provide sessions remotely, by either Zoom, Skype or Facetime. Your therapist will discuss with you, during your first session, what will happen if this occurs.
We understand that the process of finding a therapist & starting therapy can be daunting & do our utmost to make it as easy as possible for you. Making that first phone call or sending the first email is difficult & we attempt to make your journey into therapy as easy as it possibly can be. We always try to answer the phone so that you don't need to leave a message (although occasionally of course this is impossible).
