The Queens Arms Country Inn was built by cotton mill owner William Robinson in 1825 to serve purpose as a beer house. In 1837, the same year that Queen Victoria ascended to the throne, it was awarded a licence as an alehouse. Towards the end of the 19th Century The Queens was acquired by the Manchester Racecourse Company as it was proposed that a racecourse was going to be built around the village.
Food is served 12 noon - 2:30pm Monday to Friday and 12 noon - 8:30pm Saturdays and 12 noon - 7pm on Sundays. The Queens Arms Country Inn is a Peak District pub offering a wide selection of both traditional pub food and an authentic Indian restaurant upstairs. As a traditional Peak District pub, we offer a wide selection of high quality wholesome pub food using the finest locally sourced ingredients.

The Queens Arms Country Inn is listed in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide. We have a huge selection of real ales, lagers, wines and spirits on offer at competitive prices. Ever since The Queens was built in 1825 it has been a traditional ale drinkers' establishment. CAMRA was formed in 1971 by four keen ale drinkers who became disillusioned with the market dominance of the mass producers of beer.
