We'll be serving up the food and drinks you've been missing over the last year and truly hope that you'll choose to join us. Your safety is of course paramount to us and we will be taking every precaution to ensure you are safe while enjoying yourself. The Auld Hundred is one of the earliest of Rose Street's many and varied pubs.
The building itself started life as a mission hall before being converted for use as pub in 1800. This history is thought to have given rise to the origin of its name "Auld Hundred": a name given to the traditional tune to which the 23rd Psalm is sung. Situated in the centre of Edinburgh's New town, it is in close proximity to Queen Street Gardens, Princes Street shopping destinations and Waverley train station is also minutes away.

Trying hard to support hospitality and got the most rude unwelcome introduction when we arrived at exactly 12.00, one member of staff just rudely says “we’re shut” other member of staff says we don’t open for 2… mins, a family of 6 with a toddler so we took our custom for a family meal to Rose St Brewery who were the opposite most welcoming and helpful. Got a half attempt at an apology by one but won’t be back!

I had a lovely break in Edinburgh with my daughter who is at university in the city. We stopped for a gorgeous Sunday roast at the pub - scrumprious food, good value, great, friendly service and comfortable, warm environment. We felt totally relaxed and enjoyed a baileys cheesecake for pudding and a cold cider each to enjoy with our roast dinner! Thank you for a lovely time! 😍

Absolutely fantastic experience. We were sat upstairs which was preferred as downstairs was bustling and noisy, but still looked fun if that's your thing. The service was top notch and our two main servers tonight were amazing, with one running all the way downstairs and outside after us as my friend left his bag. They were both really attentive without being overwhelming. The food was delicious and perfectly cooked and seasoned. I was really pleased with my starter too! The beer was cold and tasty, as it should be :) Highly recommend! We will most certainly be back and I can't wait to recommend

Rude staff. Don’t think we quite fitted the bill or look at the part. . We turned up asked for a table for four we were told it would be half hour wait, we said yes we would wait. We were then informed 10 seconds later that actually would be nearer one hour so we then said okay we will have a drink and wait for one hour. Without moving from her position behind the bar she then increase the waiting time to 1.5 hours. At that point we decided our business was not appreciated and left.

We called in as we were passing by and I required a gluten free menu. Very informative staff when it comes to allergies, even had a folder with everything in as well. Staff were very polite and they provided an quick and excellent service. The main menu and even the gluten free menu had a good selection of food on it. I had the Chicken and bacon salad which was delicious and my daughter had the grilled salmon, both were very well presented on the plates. If anyone has any food allergies, I would definitely 100% recommend this pub as it can be a complete minefield deciding where to eat when you
