With 23 years working in independent practice, Robert Hughes has a patient centred approach, with a personal touch. At Robert Hughes Eyecare you are guaranteed continuity (apart from the rare time Robert goes on holiday), and as all tests carried out by Robert, there is no passing patients around from person to person.
Robert Hughes Eyecare is accredited to measure your eye pressure to check for glaucoma. If we find you are at risk we laison with the local hospital and get you seen by the appropriate specialist. So I'll have to repeat myself.
Had an appointment for 9am and asked over the phone to arrive 15 minutes early for the covid questions and security.
I arrived at 8.45am and phoned as asked. Looking through the window the shop was staffed, I rang, phone went straight to answering machine. I tapped on the window and everybody disappeared around the corner inside ignoring me.
Not impressed.

Local optician's who have helpful friendly staff, you get the whole package.
The optician is very patient and explains the whole process which is good for anyone who is a little apprehensive or anxious especially with autism.
The aftercare service is great compared to larger companies and they are so helpful, nothing is too much trouble, always pleasant and polite.

I visited here for an eye test last weekend, the test was thorough and all aspects of my optical needs were discussed in detail with Mr Hughes. Very kind and re assuring people who work here. No hard sell and a good variety of frames. I shall be returning here at the end of this month to choose some reading glasses. If you like the idea of good service and being dealt with by kind and decent people then I urge you to come here.
