Well poor management never ever recommend this restaurant they don’t pay wages to workers even I have 3 victims who use to be work in this restaurant but unfortunately at the pay time they kick them off. Specifically students avoid to work in Shezan….
Shame on you Shezan management 😡

Have been a customer multiple times and enjoyed the food and prior to ordering I called ahead to ask how long it would be. I was informed it would be 40-50 minutes, so proceeded with my order. I called two minutes later to change the order and express concern that my confirmation text said ETA 90 minutes. Again, I was reassured that this was incorrect and was "automatic" because of the roadworks outside the restaurant. 1h 20 mins later I called to say I still hadn't received my order. The person who answered was the same person I had spoken to earlier and asked if I wanted to cancel. I expressed

Had not booked a table but popped in on the off chance and asked if they could fit us in, fortunately they had a table for us. Fantastic food that was full of flavour. Wife had Chicken Bhuna and I had Chicken Jalfrezi, one of the best curries we've ever had. First class service from start to finish, very polite and efficient. First time we've been but will definitely be back and would highly recommend. JBSlater

Have won all these awards over last couple of years and I can understand why! the taste of my curry was brilliant not gonna lie!!! The thing is I went in and asked for a recommendation and he basically offered me 2 curry’s 😂 and charged me WHAT?? I said no I just want one curry please lol that had me wondering what’s going on? I did get one curry and it was lovely!! But let me be blunt! They tried to rip me off!! I understand they are paying through the nose for location, When I did get my order they charged me more than what it was stated on the takeaway menu? I just paid it! It’s clear

A fantastic pre-theatre option, ideally located opposite Edinburgh Playhouse. Friendly staff with a steady but fast service. A lovely and affordable pre-theatre menu is available with the most delicious Indian cuisine I have ever had! Highly recommend and will definitely return.

Boring -average food and bad service. I know they have a pretty good reputation so we were excited to try it but we were really let down! Our food was room temp and we had to ask 4 different servers just to get a glass of water. Will make sure to tell friends not to come here in the future.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. We started out with the poppadoms and the sauce plater and it was just splendid. My personal favorite was the green sauce made of green chilies, mint and coriander. Then I got the Chicken tikka masala which tasted delicious. Service was great, vibrant atmosphere, California casual, out of this world food.

Stayed at the Marriott across the street and saw this place crowded, so my family of 3 walked in. They asked if we had reservations (which we did not) and he asked us to wait for a minute. He came back and said we can stay but they need the table in an hour, which was perfectly fine to us since we just wanted to eat and go home.

Food 5/5:

One of the best Indian cuisine I have had. And that's saying a lot since I've eaten Indian cuisine all over the world. I had the lamb biryani which was fantastic. Medium spice was the perfect heat. My mother got the chicken curry and the chicken was

This is right opp to marriott and easy to spot. Outside is slightly run down.

We ordered chicken biryani, chicken bhoona masala and garlic naan. To our surprise, garlic naan was a monster size bread full of flavor! Chicken was nicely made and tastefully presented. Chicken biryani was served with a sauce which was tangy and it jived well with biryani (no raita was served though).

One of the servers was a bit eager to ask if we were ready to order, if we were ready to pay, if we surely did not want to order tea? A bit weird, but i am sure it was all in innocence. Ignoring that bit.

I would like

The food was delicious. A group of us ordered different plates to sample the different dishes and we loved every dish. If you are in the area I highly recommend stopping by and feel free to try any plate because it will likely be excellent. Oh and one last thing the nan bread is big enough to share with 4 people.

In Edinburgh dropping my son off at university and discovered Shezan across the street from our hotel (Marriott Glasshouse-Autograph). Food was amazing: I had the tandoori mixed grill and my son the chilly chicken. Both were spiced just right and brought me back to some of the best restaurants in Mumbai. Ordered garlic naan to accompany, and ultimately to eat with! Thoroughly enjoyed it so much I decided against the silverware and went traditional. The crowd was light and came later so service was attentive and personalized. Such a good experience we've already decided to return again during

A better place than I was expecting. We went on a weekday night and it started a bit quiet. The crowds started to fill in and for good reason. Big portions of Indian food that was really pretty good.

We had the butter chicken and another spicy dish. In addition we had some naan that was HUGE. We even got lots of little munchies with small dipping sauces to start.

Surprisingly the service was kind of weird and a little overbearing. He didn't put in our main courses because he wanted us to "enjoy" the nibbles. But it just added time to the meal unnecessarily. And then a bit of

Fairly upscale, more formal Indian food with incredible service, trendier decor, and full bar.

Came here for dinner and we were very impressed. The food quality was amazing, service was phenomenal, and the portions were large. I went with the lamb vindaloo, listed as "Very Hot" and wow - this was much spicier than any US Indian restaurant would dare serve and I loved it. Mango lassi was required to put out the fire in my mouth. Wife loved her butter chicken. Garlic naan was homemade and super tasty.

Overall, we really loved our experience and I can't think of how it could have

Extremely noisy, the worst ever chicken korma in the world is probably here. If you know Indian food, do not come here. It is not wheelchair accessible and evidently offers no accessibility for people with autism. Even if you ask for your dish to be fixed, you still get something needing flavour. Deeply disappointed with the environment. The guys serving the food look very committed but it is sad that they could not fix a dish. I challenge them to eat what they serve in order to improve the quality of the food.

Excellent staff and even better food! We tried a place down the street that came highly recommended, but they told us they were closed 20 minutes before Yelp said they closed. So we walked down the street to Shazam and wow - so glad we did.

Super flavorful food - we had the Chicken Rogan Josh, Lamb Byrianai, and Saag Paneer. Great portions, super tasty food and a staff that was on top of anything.

Definitely worth a look if you are in the area. No desire to try any of the other Indian places nearby, I'll always head here due to the staff.

Cheers!

This place was great. Super good service. Modern environment. Easy access. The prices were fair. Some of the best Indian cuisine we have eaten. (There were chicken nuggets for the kids).

There are three Indian restaurants in a row. We are glad we landed here. If we lived here, we would definitely work it into our foodie rotation.

Good Indian food in a great location near the Omni center and national theater. A fun, hip setting with great people watching windows and full wall murals of glamorous Bollywood leading ladies.

They have a large single malt section on the cocktails menu, biggest and most thorough I've seen at a curry joint.

I tried the chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, and aloo gobi, and all were very good quality, not too greasy, and flavorful with just the right amount of heat...hot but not too much (I'm sure they could dial it back on request though).

My only complaint is I found it a little

The sign says "best curry in Edinburgh"

While it was good, I am not sure if its the best. I found the spicing a bit bland, and lacking depth. Service was good, if a bit slow for a carry out. Will have to come back and try out sit in :)

For those of you who have yet to experience it, let me just say that there is something so comforting about seeing a "People Love Us on Yelp" sticker in the window of a popular restaurant in another country when you've been wondering around without access to the app and are almost too tired and hungry to care where you actually eat.

With that said, thank you Edinburgh Yelpers for this treasure. After a full day of walking and touristing after a full week of pub grub, we were ready for something different. I'd tried to find an Indian place recommended by the guide book from

I live almost opposite Shezan Tandoori, and I have to complain about all these restaurants in the area! It's seriously hurting my bank account and making the previously enjoyable task of cooking seem rather tedious.

Shezan, which serves Indiad food, is definitely in Italian restaurant territory, with Ferri's, the Sicilian restaurant and Guiliano's surrounding it... However, it's probably what makes it (as well as Phuket Pavilion right next to it) a little refreshing, so a friend and I decided to get take out one night. We weren't that adventurous, opting for simple naan

I came here on a Monday or Tuesday evening a few months ago and fond the service was actually quite good, probably because there hardly any customers. The waiters were welcoming and the food didn't take too long arrive. The food, although not particularly bad, was far from being the best Indian food I've tasted. I ordered the chicken bhuna with pilau rice and I'm pretty sure the chicken was overcooked, but the sauce was excellent with a good mix of vegetables and spices. The rice also tasted a bit overcooked and soft, as if it had been sitting out for a while.
