I stumbled on this place by accident and decided that we were going to have New Year's Eve dinner there . The food was very good and so was a service. This place is a bar / restaurant. It was a shame to be 10 ft away from a table of six with three female hyenas trying to outdo each other. Next time we had to Edinburgh we probably will be there again this year I would love to go back there and enjoy ameal in an area without the pub atmosphere.

Found this bar randomly whilst walking around Endinburgh. Was a busy Saturday night and great atmosphere. Only wanted a quick drink but stayed a few hours ! Staff were attentive and friendly.
Even went back for breakfast the following day.
Will be our first port of call when we visit Edinburgh again.

This is a nice restaurant tucked away in Charlotte Lane off Queensferry Street. It has a covered seating area outside and the interiors divided into two separate areas. The decor is bright and modern. The food menu is relatively varied and everyone in my group of 12 was pleased with their choice. The drinks menu is reasonably varied too. Service is pleasant and efficient. Worth a visit.

My husband and I had been traveling for 3 weeks throughout Europe so when we arrived in Edinburgh, we were craving a meal that felt home cooked. Our hotel recommended Indigo Yard and we are so glad they did. We still talk about this meal- and we've been home for months! Special on Sunday was a whole chicken with 2 sides and it was great. The bar area was covered with white lights and looked beautiful. Very good pick if you're in Edinburgh!

Indigo Yard looks amazing, the decor is authentically modern, with a nice "bookcase style" bar (with a little ladder for getting certain wines and spirits.)
They also have a decent range of draft beers, however only one cider, and everything on tap is pretty expensive. I don't mind expensive, as long as the service justifies the cost of the drinks, which it didn't really to be honest. There were approximately five people behind the bar, and not that many people waiting for drinks but it was taking a relatively long time to be served, there seemed to also be a bit of an arrogance

I was pretty excited about this place cause the website is awesome. It looked like a trendy, hip, fun and happenin place to eat dinner so I told my friend to meet me there for dinner. I tried making a reservation via online but it didn't work so I called and they took it for me.
The place is a bit hard to find cause, but it's next to pizza express on queen ferry st ln. The restaurant is pretty trendy and have twigs with lights everywhere. The bar is spectacular with all the beers and wines showcased. It was pretty dead on a Monday night, so truthfully I think you can come here without

Sigh ... what Helen C said (we were together at the time). Perhaps a one-off or just bad luck with the waiter, considering everywhere else we went in Edinburgh had top notch service, prices and food, and other reviewers seem to love it.
Aside from what Helen already pointed out, we had to remind the server that my order came with juice and coffee, and even then the OJ never showed up. Had subbed out an extra hasbrown for the haggis, when we pointed out that my order had no extra anything (but was missing the haggis and black pudding as requested) he set it down in front of me anyway and rushed

Disappointed with our visit, the 'not quite the whole
nine yards' were lukewarm and the portions varied in size. We were a large group who had booked a month in advance but they were totally unprepared for our party, even though the rest of the place was pretty quiet. The waiter came across quite rude at times and generally acted like he couldn't be bothered. Not a complete disaster as others enjoyed their breakfasts but overall felt this could have been a more pleasurable visit.

Went here for lunch recently with friends and really liked the atmosphere and decor. We were sat in a comfortable booth and mostly chose things from the offer on the menu (I think it might have been 2 mains for £10). Nik and I shared a starter as I was intrigued to try the wild mushrooms on sun-dried tomato toast. This was very nice but I was a bit disappointed as the toast we received was actually just rustic wholemeal (although still tasty). We both had the burger as our main course and they were delicious! Well cooked, nicely seasoned and juicy but with crispy edges. I also liked the

Ah, Indigo. In difficult times for businesses everywhere, Indigo has been a sturdy shelter from the storm, a constant go-to in the west end of Edinburgh for bustling food and evening-time drinks or a cheeky swift coffee or longer lunch during the day.
Indigo Yard doesn't move with what's fashionable - I don't think it needs to. Once you've found a certain way of doing things that works, and has consistently worked, then that's it, you become a longstanding feature that people will keep coming back to. I'm not sure how many years Indigo has been open...over ten years

Third visit to the Indigo Yard. Well a few couple a months since the last. I never had a meal here (yet) but the ambiance is second to none! It is like being outdoors indoors. Dim lighting and a lot of wood. Stone floor with red brick walls. I feel like I am in a courtyard with a balcony overlooking the place below. If you can just imagine a Mediterranean restaurant on the beach. It is close to dusk. Low candlelight and stars overlook the place. You sit in one of the corner sofas. And a low funky beat is playing in the background. You order a beer which is served promptly and the waitress asks

I have to admit I'm not quite sure where I stand with this place! Been undecided on two or three stars!
On one hand I enjoy it as a bar, particularly in the summer after work or on a Saturday afternoon (its predominently an 'office worker' style clientel). The outdoor seating has been a welcome addition, allowing you to enjoy a glass of something chilled in the evening sun! Then when it gets chilly head inside to enjoy a cocktail or two as the after work vibe picks up.. Def a good place to start on a Thurs or Fri evening!

It's Sunday, the day after the night before which incorporated bizarre cocktails, far too many pre-going out amarettos and Coronas and a rock club that doubled as a time machine, transporting you backwards exactly nine or ten years. You've got work again tomorrow and you're in for a three hour plus rail journey that afternoon. What do you need? AWESOME FOOD!
But what's better than awesome food? Awesome food available on a two for one basis in a really pleasant place. Now I'm assured that when this spot gets busy it does become far less serene and more bustling and jostling

I came here with my brother during Christmas time, and it just gave me butterflies to walk in! The decorations were fantastic and the whole atmosphere was electric. You could have been anywhere in the world!
The whole place is really cool, it's designed well and it's easy to maneuver around. The food is good too - pretty standard really. I had chicken noodles in sweet chilli and my brother had chicken with leeks. He loved it, and so did I -albeit a little bit spicy. We had a bottle of red wine with our meal, and my chocolate brownie was the best I've ever tasted!! It all came to

This is an exceptionally light and airy venue, it feels like you're in a posh southern European coffee shop (then when you look outside it's pelting rain against the window - ignore that)
The dining area has been sort of cleverly penned off using thought out interior architecture, so it's certainly cosier and more intimate. None of the food is good for you, which doesn't bother me in the slightest but my more "aware" friend was getting a bit antsy. We stayed for a drink after and it was how can I put it - just alright.
