At Hutton Cranswick CP School we promote positive values and aim to make each day enjoyable, rewarding and memorable. Hutton Cranswick CP School is a friendly school at the heart of our community. We are a smaller than average primary school in the village of Hutton Cranswick and part of the East Riding Local Authority.

We currently have 192 pupils on roll and our numbers continue to rise. As a school team we strive to ensure that children have the best opportunities during their time with us. We provide a safe, healthy and nurturing environment for all our children, their families and our community. Embracing and developing values for life which inspire and encourage all children to thrive, achieve and experience success is central to everything we do.
Services
As a school family we feel that aspirational is something that everybody should be in and around school, and that believing in ourselves and in others to achieve those goals is highly important. Feeling success is the end product of any achievement, no matter how big or small, academic, behavioural or social.
The Government set out its definition of British Values in the 2011 Prevent Strategy, and these values were reiterated in 2014. Each year the children decide upon their classroom rules charter and the rights associated with these. All the children contribute to the drawing up of the charter. Children have many opportunities for their voices to be heard.
Governors have a secure knowledge of the difference the school is making to pupils through their careful examination of data, checks on procedures and discussions with pupils.' The Governing Body of Hutton Cranswick CP School are committed to a simple vision for the school.

We work to ensure that the children attending our school thrive in a safe and stimulating learning environment achieving their full academic potential, that they are provided with opportunities to enrich their life experience and learn the skill of building relationships with those around them. These are all essential foundations that will help equip the children for their future lives.
Our School Council is led by Mrs Lewer and consists of two class representatives from Year 1 to Year 6. The children have a weekly meeting on a Tuesday to discuss ways they can make our school even better. They take on board the views of the children in their classes and work hard to be proactive in the actions they take.
Our JTAs are led by Miss Elliott and have been very busy and proactive over several years delivering assemblies, organising competitions and promoting the message of safer, active and independent travel within the school community. The children have worked with Road Safety Officer Christian Jordan.
