We are a small, active community nursery in the heart of Brockley. We have 36 places for local children aged from two to five years old. Since we opened in 1983, our aim has been to provide good quality, affordable childcare, which supports children in developing to their full potential at their own pace.
We have a hugely committed staff team. Our longest serving staff member has been with us for 30 years, and our most recent recruit has been with us since 2014. This stable staff base is a vital ingredient in helping children and parents to feel comfortable and secure and to enjoy their time with us.

Services
The nursery is a large, open plan space with four additional rooms for key worker and small group activities, plus a large playground and a sunny back garden. The open plan space means that children are not restricted to rooms or areas for a particular age group. They can all take advantage of the many activities on offer.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage, which prepares our children to progress with confidence before moving on to school. All of our children are supported in developing their full potential at their own pace. Our key person system enables us to ensure a planned curriculum which is suited to each child's individual needs.
While no two days are the same here at St Andrew's, this section will give you an idea of the range of activities that children can get involved in, what our mealtimes are like, and the wide range of Government initiatives that we are involved to support children's development as effectively as possible.
This project will run until 2010 and its aim is to provide and train nursery practitioners to encourage the development of children's speech, language and communication skills as well as giving activity ideas to parents to do at home with their children. So far we have implemented a daily language group, introduced a self-registration system for the children and set up a lending library.
As well as having a stimulating time within the nursery, the children benefit enormously from trips outside the nursery, both locally and further afield. We have been delighted to give some of our children the opportunity to attend the Forest School in Forest Hill for one day a week over 6 weeks. The aim of forest schools is to encourage and inspire individuals of any age through positive outdoor experiences.

St. Andrews is an amazing school for pre-schoolers. We have been here for 3 years and both my youngest girls love it. The teachers are caring, loving and supportive. My 5 year old just started kindergarten this year and was more than prepared. I recommend to anyone who is looking for a school where their child can grow, play and learn.

St Andrew's is an incredible place, my 4 year old daughter went there and her teachers prepared her so well for the transition to full day Kindergarten. She was ahead of her class by leaps and bounds. Also, the art and crafts projects that they do are beautiful. The art show that gets put on at the end of the school year is beyond words. My son is currently at the school now in the Parent / Toddler program and we enjoy his experience there as well, it's a great starter class for young children that will be going into the preschool program. Cannot give enough praise to all the people there, highly

Of all the decisions we have made for our children, sending them to St. Andrew's Nursery School has been one of the best! We started with Parent/Toddler mornings and transitioned through each grade, including Kindergarten Enrichment. There is no better environment for education and creativity as well as organic preschool fun! Next year will be our last at St. Andrew's and I already have a pit in my stomach...it will be hard to say goodbye to such an amazing school and family!
