We love Muddy Boots- it has a wonderful, informal and happy atmosphere. The staff are so helpful and my son loves every minute of his time there. No fussing, no bureaucracy, happy kids and staff having fun. I would recommend this nursery to anyone who wants tired but happy kids at the end of the day, who want their kids to have some exercise and fresh air and don't mind them coming home muddy.
Our Acomb Nursery is situated within the grounds of Westfield Primary School in Acomb, York. Each of the rooms follow the Muddy Boots theme & style to support our curiosity approach to learning, as well as having direct access to an outdoor garden space, which supports our whole ethos - to not be afraid to let children learn by getting muddy, exploring, going on adventures and getting out there and having a go!.

Although most restrictions are now lifted, we are offering 2 slightly different showround options to ensure everyone is kept safe:. Deciding which nursery to send our child to was one of the biggest decisions of our parenthood at the time.
As soon as we step foot in Muddy Boots Acomb, we were welcomed with open arms. They showed us around and had a real interest in us and our child. They answered all our questions and anxieties, putting us at ease straight away. I just felt that this was going to be somewhere they would look after my child the way I would whilst I’m not there.
We are now two years down the line and I have two children with Muddy Boots and they absolutely love it! They love going, spending long days there

Our son has been going to Muddy Boots for just over three years now. He loves going and we are really happy sending him. It’s mostly down to the fact that the staff know him really well, taking the time to get to know what his interests are and what he likes to do. He has made lots of friends, it’s a really friendly and welcoming place, he is just genuinely happy to spend time there.

My daughter has been going to Muddyboots for 9 months. The staff have been amazing - all so friendly and always seem to be doing interesting activities with the kids. My daughter has been perfectly happy attending and has developed great bonds with her carers. I would totally recommend Muddyboots to anyone looking for a nursery or wrap-around care.

We had originally started our twins in another nursery setting, but for a number of reasons it quickly became clear it wasn’t the right place for them. We wanted somewhere more nurturing, with a feeling of family, and we found that and more in Muddy Boots. The staff are warm, friendly, fun and caring. They take time to get to know the children as individuals, and I love how they follow the children’s interests as they set the topics and activities for each week. The office staff are fantastic, always happy to help and have often gone above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Our little boy

I highly recommend Muddy Boots Acomb. My little boy has been attending for over a year now and I am very pleased with the care he receives. He took a long time to settle into nursery life initially and the Nursery Practitioners put in so much effort to help him and really went the extra mile - twice(!) as he had to resettle after time off due to lockdown. He has now moved up rooms and has a great relationship with his keyworker and the other staff in there. I am planning on sending my other child to Muddy Boots Acomb in the future.

My daughter joined Muddy Boots earlier in the year and we can’t praise the nursery and staff enough.
Since joining the investigators room she has developed a great bond with the team in the room, especially her key person (Beth). They go over and above every day she is in and always keep in mind her interests.
The app is great and it’s lovely to get pictures of her enjoying herself at nursery, especially after such a difficult year!

Our eldest daughter joined the Muddy Boots family in Sep 2020 in the middle the of the pandemic, so both our daughter and ourselves were nervous, but the team at Muddy Boots had brilliant processes in place, made our daughter feel valued and gave her confidence to be herself.
Since then she has thrived and absolutely loves going, and we fully intend to send our youngest there when they get a little older.
The team are approachable and communicate with us really well, we are so glad we chose Muddy Boots over more local childcare providers.

Our 2 boys have been through every room at Muddy Boots. The staff are very caring and show a genuine interest in the kids. They work with us to meet our children's specific needs and provide great updates on their activities via the very intuitive Famly app. I'm always amazed by the variety and inventiveness of the activities they do. I would not hesitate to recommend this nursery.

Having your first child to start their nursery journey is a big milestone, and for us parents it is always a little scary. We started nursery with an 8 month old baby girl (discoverers room).
From our settling-in sessions we never felt anxious about leaving her at Muddy Boots. The first day we’d been given a lovely branded jute bag full of goodies for us adults (including napkins to wipe up those tears, which we obviously ended up using!).
To keep track of the babies’ day we have an app which notes in real time what’s happening, including naps, feeding time etc. From the same app we can

I can highly recommend Muddy Boots Acomb to anyone looking to place their child in a nursery setting.
It didn’t take long at all for our daughter to settle into the discoveries room.
Her key worker Becky is brilliant and I can see a fantastic bond forming between them which makes me feel happy knowing that I am leaving my daughter content with her worker.
The setting is great with a lovely outdoor area, and insides is a good size space too and always lots of activities taking places day to day, focusing each week around a particular theme!
Meals looks nutritional and are all cooked in house
