Family owned and run since 1988, we are driven by a passion and vision for outdoor childcare. Children are happiest and healthiest within the fresh air of our extensive natural environments, where they are free to connect to nature and to take risks, developing their resilience, self-belief and character.
We are hugely passionate about providing a special place where children can create positive memories that they can cherish for a lifetime. Forest school sessions are run in our on-site woodlands as part of daily life and we are proud to be one of a minority of UK providers to be accredited by the Forest School Association (FSA).

Ashton House Nursery was founded by Margaret Sheppard, a mum of five, from a passion and vision for outdoor childcare. The nursery is now run by her two youngest children Jack and Anna, who had an outdoor childhood within the extensive grounds at the Ashton Hayes site. The family have a real sense of adventure, ensuring that their children have freedom to take risks to develop resilience, self-belief and character.
Our wonderful staff team are our most valuable resource and as role models for our children, we want to make sure that they feel empowered, inspired and have a desire to invest in themselves. We have many highly qualified members of staff which is something that we truly cherish, but for us it's just as much about the person behind the qualification.
Careful thought has been put into the development of the children's allotment space to ensure that it is packed full of wild and wonderful treasures that appeal to all of their senses. It's a calming space where all of our children can dig, plant and care for fruits, herbs, vegetables and flowers or where they can take a little quiet time to reflect.
Throughout school holidays, our Holiday Club at our nursery in Ashton Hayes runs a fantastic programme for 4-11 year olds who are enrolled in Primary School. We ensure that no two days are the same, and a dedicated team of staff are ready to get 'stuck in' to ensure that the children have an amazing time with us.

I cannot begin to lavish enough praise on this wonderful place and every member of its team! They have cared for my daughter for the last 3.5 years and I could not have wished for a better place and people to look after her. Incredible connection with Mother Nature, brilliant learning environment and amazing staff! If I could give more stars I would!
