This is a beautifully decorated, rustic, enchanting hotel. The 400 year old building is very comfy and warm. An extremely relaxing environment. A fairytale feeling to the aptly named Wizards retreat.
Welcomed by the owner Ian and introduced to the area, given plenty of ideas for eating and day out opportunities.
The suite (Merlin Suite) was extremely comfortable, warm and a delightful place to stay. Cake, biscuits, teas and coffees and toiletries all included and of a high quality.
Just an absolutely delightful stay which we plan to repeat to experience one of the other suites there.

This was our second stay at the Witches Thatch. Really unique place, full of character. Ian is a great host, there to meet us when we arrived and made sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend a stay in this lovely house.

What a wonderfully magical place to stay!! Took my family there (8 year old daughter included) and we thoroughly loved every minute!
Every convenience you could want, fabulously presented in a very original and quirky way! So much to see and do both inside the rooms and outside.
Located centrally to town, there are plenty of excellent bars and restaurants to enjoy, and the Wizards Cafe for breakfast is recommended, as is a trip to the edge itself!
Can't wait to visit again!!!

What an amazing place!
The host, Ian, communicated wonderfully throughout the booking process which is best done directly with the ‘wizards thatch’ website itself. The actual accommodation is magnificent and the only way to describe it is magical. There are wonderful walks nearby in an area steeped in history and the actual accommodation is right on the doorstep of some excellent bars and restaurants. We loved it and will definitely be booking again.

We've spent two nights in The Wizardry suite with my spouse. We both love to travel and stayed at lots of places all over the world. This was the first time when we hardly wanted to go outside (we did it for getting fantastic meals in the lovely town) and couldn't wait to get back to our place. It was the most romantic, exciting, interesting and comfortable experience! We are both history buffs so it was the perfect place to make us feel like we're living in a museum. It's too bad we didn't have enough time to check out all the wonderful things our suite was packed with
