We are housed in a large semi detached Victorian property with a large garden to the front and a secluded town garden to the rear. The town garden has a large decked area for our clients and thier visitors enjoyment with spectacular views out over the market town of Newton Abbot.
Our Accommodation is provided on 2 floors with access via a stair lift. The ground floor consists of 4 single bedrooms, one with en suite facilities. A newly refurbished dining room, large lounge area, kitchen, laundry room, office, bathroom with Hydro Bath and 2 toilets with raised toilet seats are also located on the ground floor.

Services
We understand that many of you would like to know a little more about the Care Home for your loved ones and with this in mind we have downloadable versions of our Brochure, Statement of Purpose and Service User Guide. Each document outlines our homes procedures and articulates our caring and professional approach to everything that we do here at Mount Pleasant.
We strive to provide a high quality of care to all of our residents. The most important aspect of this is the quality and professionalism of the people who provide that care. Careful recruitment, good training and fair pay rates all contribute. Most of all, we treat our people with respect. In this way we have excellent staff retention and can create an ambience of continuity and community.
Whilst all care homes are independently inspected, the standards used have little specific content for dementia care. In our view, one of the best sources of training in this specialist area currently available is provided by the Alzheimer's Society charity. All of our staff involved in this area of care will be trained using their recommended training courses, with their examination results independently evaluated by the Alzheimer's Society.
Meals are an essential time in the day for our residents providing structure and social interaction. We pride ourselves on the attention paid to good nutrition. Diabetics - require a varied healthy diet, rich in fruit, vegetables and starchy carbohydrates but low in sugar and saturated fat. High Energy Needs - underweight residents may need fortified, high calorie, high protein foods that are not too filling.
