The National Curriculum for Primary History says that A high-quality history education will help pupils gain a coherent knowledge and understanding of Britain's past and that of the wider world. It should inspire pupils' curiosity to know more about the past. At Pinfold Primary, we belive that the teaching of history provides pupils with not only an understanding of the past, but also with a curiosity to find out more.
Reading books will be sent out on a Friday and will be changed on a weekly basis. We encourage the children to read daily. Please check out my video on supporting your child read at home. Please make sure you have your child's reading record in on Fridays so we can read your comments. PE this year will take place every Monday.
For daily planning please access the homework assigned to your child's school spida account. Work will be updated daily and we ask you either upload completed tasks or submit a photo via email. If there are any problems please let school know immediately. There have been some fantastic examples of home learning taking place- I am so proud of you all.
Our small friendly school consists of two large well equipped classrooms, a hall, a Forest School classroom and a playground. Early years has freeflow access to our learning rich outdoors through the day. We find that our vertically grouped classes benefit all our children, ensuring children learn to accept and help each other whilst also setting high expectations and challenge for all.
I love teaching and have been teaching for over twenty years (since I was about 12!) I love children. I am priviledged, in this job, to share in their joy and laughter every single day. I am passionate about outdoor learning, equality and our environment and believe it is my responsibility to ensure every child has an equal opportunity to develop and evolve in the best surroundings we can provide for them.
