Sir Hugh Myddelton (born 1560, died 1631) was a Welsh clothmaker, businessman, mine owner, goldsmith, banker and self-taught engineer. He travelled from Wales to seek his fortune in London and, after being apprenticed to a goldsmith, became so successful that he was appointed Royal Jeweller by King James I.
At Hugh Myddelton Primary School we believe in laying the foundations on which children can build their futures. Staff work hard to instill an early love for learning: they aim to capture and nurture it, enabling our children to grow into confident, independent and successful individuals.
Our curriculum aspires to equip children with the knowledge, understanding and basic skills they will need as they continue their learning journey through primary education and beyond. We value the parallel development of our children's personal, social and academic skills, firmly believing that these are fundamental to them achieving success in all aspects of their future lives as citizens in modern Britain.

Our Governing Body has a range of duties and powers and a general responsibility for the conduct of the Schools, with a view to promoting high standards of educational achievement. At the Learning Quarter Partnership, the role of the Board of Governors is to work closely with the Executive Head Teacher, Associate Head Teacher, Head Teachers and staff to provide the very best education, environment and care for our school community.
We have twice been commended by Nick Gibb MP (Secretary of State for School Standards) for our excellent results for 6 year olds and 11 year olds. We were the world's first Let's Think School. We work in close partnership with University College London to develop our pupils' approach to problem solving.
From the moment they join the school, pupils are taught extremely well and make outstanding progress. Teachers are dedicated to enabling every pupil to excel. Adults promote children's independence skills superbly well. Although children lead the way, adults are never far away to lend a helping hand when required.
