There is lots to do in Mid Wales, especially in and around Rhayader. It has stunning scenery, most beautiful being the Elan Valley Dams which is only 3 miles up the road. Just three miles away are the beautiful Elan Valley Dams. There are lots of walks and trails around the five large Victorian Dams, suitable for all abilities.

Situated in the small but busy town of Rhayader, the gateway town of the beautiful Elan Valley Dams. All of our rooms are decorated differently with either exposed bricks, beams, fire place or feature walls to create a different character in every room. Our bar area has a modern yet cosy feel. You can sit and relax with a coffee or a refreshing drink such as our new cloudy apple cider.

In the coffee shop we use fresh, local produce throughout the menu and in our sandwich/cake counter. We use Caffeeto coffee beans in all our coffees, which is hand roasted in Italy to a traditional recipe so it makes a really delicious and flavoursome. As well as our hot food menu we have a range of fresh salad produce and sandwich fillings in our counter, along with delicious cakes, tasty pasties/sausage rolls and homemade quiche.

We have nine en-suite rooms all together which are separated into three categories: Standard, Superior and Luxury. All our bedrooms are equipped with everything you need to for an enjoyable stay, but as all our rooms are individually decorated some rooms are just a bit more unique than others. There are two luxury rooms: Elan Suite and Gloc y Dref.

The Crown Inn has a wealth of character, with lots of original features, a lovely open fireplace, private restaurant and secluded beer garden. The pub has three cosy en-suite rooms attached, all with tea and coffee making facilities, shower rooms and televisions. We also have a function room that can be booked for your special events.
