Services
Natasha is our fully fledged Dispensing Optician (beginning here as a humble student back in 2009). She thoroughly enjoys the nerdy side of optics and isn't ashamed of it, so if lens and frame technology is your thing then look no further. If you're in the market for sports eyewear then Natasha is the women for you, with a catalogue of knowledge stored in her brain she'll make you a pro, whatever your age, whatever your sport.
Gurminder is our expert Contact Lens fitter, and she won't give up without a fight. If you think you can't wear lenses then think again. Her years of experience have seen her fit lenses to children as young as eight and adults as young as eighty, with a spectrum of visual requirements. You may want lenses to wear all the time, or you might dip in and out for sport or evenings out, but whatever it is, she'll make it work.
Sandra has been dressing the eyes of Barnes since 2003, having migrated from the West End world of Harrods. Her eye for fashion and quality puts her in a league of her own when it comes to frame choice, and as a spectacle wearer herself deeply appreciates the need for accurate vision. You'll love her pure honesty, she won't let you leave in a frame that doesn't suit you, and that's a promise.
Callie came to us straight from school, which means her memory beats all of ours (she doesn't need post-it notes like the rest of us). Her calm and natural way keeps everyone at ease, but don't be fooled, she's one super organised and efficient lady. Whether you need help choosing a frame, your contacts need ordering or you want advice on looking great in your shades, Callie's your go to girl.
Amelia has been with us longer than she cares to remember (it's so long we're not even sure how long it is). She pretty much knows everyone who comes in at the Roehampton practice, and has an infectious smile so you can't help but like her. Her gentle and calm way makes her the perfect candidate to put up with the rest of us, you can be rest assured you're in safe hands.

I have been going to Focal Point for must be getting on 35 years now and I can honestly say they are THE BEST ! they have looked after me so well over the years with various eye problems, getting the right contacts and glasses and have always felt extremely special as a patient, as they go the extra mile. Having had a couple of bad experiences with one of the larger chain opticians (wrong prescription, twice!), I decided to try this highly recommended independent Optician instead and I was really impressed. Their Covid cleaning practices were excellent, my eye test was spot on and the difference in the glasses I bought and my former ones was astonishing. They're not as cheap as the larger opticians nor is there as much choice but I've realised that as it's incredibly important to look after your eyes, then maybe splashing out a bit more is worth doing . Highly recommended.

Focal point are Brilliant! They offer a high quality and very personal service. When I had an accident on a tennis court several years ago and damaged my eye they were quick to take up the job of checking the pressure in that eye as recommended by the opthalmologist who treated me, which was very reassuring. They take great care to get to know their clients, and as a result their customers stay with them for many years. I was originally introduced to them by a friend who has never actually lived in Barnes but even when she moved to Cambridge she still went back to them! I also get lots of compliments

I have always been so pleased with my glasses and this last pair has become another favourite.
