These specific movements and forces can help and or hinder how we function in sports, at work, walking the dog etc. Movement and force analysis can help to diagnose the cause of injury and can also be altered to help reduce injury and symptoms and may also improve movement and performance.
Musculoskeletal ultrasound is a painless and harmless way to obtain pictures of structures in the body, such as muscles, tendons and ligaments. It uses high frequency sound waves to generate a live picture of these structures on a screen. A qualified sonographer is able to determine if there is any damage to the structures that may account for pain or discomfort you are feeling.
Clinic staff were part of a research group including the Scottish Football Association, Scottish Rugby. Sportscotland and the Scottish Government who produced the first grassroots sport concussion guidelines in the world. The guidelines were update in 2018 based on current scientific expert advice and have been disseminated throughout sports teams and clubs in Scotland.
