Services
Bishopbriggs Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic was purchased in 2011 by Elaine Hutchinson after a 28 year career with NHS Glasgow. Our goal is to provide every patient with a thorough assessment, a diagnosis in terms you'll understand and a treatment plan that is specific to you. Since 2011, BBPSIC has provided reliable treatment for patients in the greater Glasgow area.
When you visit the Clinic for a physiotherapy appointment, you'll be seen by one of our specialist Physiotherapists. Your Physio will carry out an initial assessment to identify any problems or issues. They will explain what treatment is recommended and you will agree goals together. Treatments are varied and could include mobilisations, exercises, soft tissue manipulation, ultrasound, taping and acupuncture.
We offer a home visit (domiciliary) service for patients who are unable to travel to the clinic. This service provides a full range of physiotherapy treatments in the comfort of your own home or residential care home. Our home visit service helps patients to identify issues, receive treatment on a regular basis and learn how to self-manage their recovery in between appointments.
Sports massage is a hands-on treatment used by experienced therapists as a standalone treatment or in conjunction with physiotherapy treatments. We offer sports massage to treat a number of issues as well as helping athletes prepare and recover from sporting events.

As a member of a local running club I made an initial assessment for a sports injury I was having. The late opening hours of the clinic suited me well around my work schedule so I was booked in to see Gemma on the following late appointment. After speaking to Gemma & giving her my symptoms she quickly got to the root of my problem & provided me with exercises which I feel with my time & effort will rid me of my injury. A second visit was scheduled for an update & sports massage. I really did appreciate Gemma's advice and professionalism.

I always turn to Elaine and the wonders of acupuncture when the pain from the herniated discs in my neck get unbearable. I was always a bit skeptical about the needles but, I have to say, they work amazingly well and Elaine explains the process brilliantly. I would highly recommend their clinic to anyone with chronic pain. Give the needles a go, it's no where near as bad as you think it is, and it works!

I have had physio from Elaine on several occasions for a variety of sports related injuries and have found her to be excellent every time. She is friendly, knowledgeable and approachable which helps you to stay relaxed and positive during the recovery process. I was particularly impressed with the results of the acupuncture and how quickly this reduced the swelling and shortened the recovery time during a recent visit to treat knee ligament injury. Highly recommended!

This is the second time I have had treatment at the clinic and as before I have found the treatment highly effective and providing a basis for sustaining the benefits and further improvements. Elaine’s meticulous and thorough approach to assessment, monitoring and review has inspired my confidence and encouraged me to develop a positive attitude toward a successful outcome.
