My name is Mrs. Hayley Roberts and I am proud to be the headteacher of such a wonderful school. I am extremely grateful of our students and staff and the positive atmosphere that they create.

Our aim is to provide academic excellence within a supportive and inviting environment where pupils enjoy learning, feel safe and make a positive contribution. We celebrate success at every opportunity providing encouragement for great achievements in the future. We view all of our children as individuals and nurture the whole child.
Services
Derry Hill School was founded in 1842. Since then it has been granted Aided status under the 1944 Education Act, which enables it to remain faithful to its original Church of England foundation - taking into account changing circumstances. The majority of the governors represent the Church of England.
To offer all our children a challenging, creative curriculum, seeking the highest standards and developing a stimulating and secure learning environment, embracing Christian understanding of everyone's needs and differences, achieved through effective communication and leadership.

At Derry Hill C of E (VA) Primary School it is very important that we strive to provide our children with an outstanding education, and as a church school we believe our children receive this education in a school environment that is distinctively Christian in character; which reflects God's love for humanity through the Christian message.
The governors are responsible, together with the head teacher for the long-term strategic direction of the school. The role of the Governing Body is to act collectively in the best interest of the children, ensuring the good conduct of the school and promoting high standards of educational achievement.
We are a group of Mums (Dads are of course more than welcome!) who work together to organise and run events to raise money to help enhance the facilities and experiences our children have at the school. New members are always welcome, and we always need volunteers to help out at events on an ad hoc basis.
Derry Hill School strives for excellence. We adopt a variety of approaches to children's learning, using class, group and individual teaching as appropriate. Sometimes areas of learning are taught as separate subjects whilst at other times, we adopt a more creative curriculum and use topics of interest.

Having had 2 kids go through they had a great time at Derry Hill but sadly the head changed and the school has not been the same or has the same feel about it. The links to the church are not good and the Christian values are not practiced by staff. Upsetting to see a good school go downhill.

Felt our kids had a good start with this school. Liked how the school was big enough for one class per year. The buildings and grounds were constantly improving whilst our children were there. Having the church so close and available for school services was a great asset as well. Teaching, leadership and curricular/extra-curricular activities were great for us and hope this continues. Only real improvement comment was I thought it was a shame the school and village hall didn't liaise to build an enclosed gated walk way linking the multi-pitch to the adjacent school playing fields so the children
