Stepping Stones Nursery

I know how overwhelming the responsibility to make the best choice can seem, having established this Nursery back in 1994 in response to my own family's needs.

I first joined the Stepping Stones family back in 1998; having had previous experience, post NNEB qualification, within other early years settings. Initially I worked as a full-time Early Years Practitioner and key person gaining further experience and honing my skills across each of the different age groups.

At Stepping Stones we agree with the beliefs of highly respected educationalists and child psychologists - that at least half of a child's educational growth and personality development is achieved in the first five years of life.

To support this development we believe that learning is best achieved through the enjoyment of play and our highly qualified and experienced team are able to assess the individual needs of our children and adapt our facilities to achieve these goals.We also believe that every child in our care has the right to health, individuality, respect and freedom from discrimination.

At Stepping Stones we follow an 'in the moment' approach to learning. We do this by creating an enabling environment (both physical and emotional) and through the relationships and interactions that the children experience. We do not plan ahead, rather we remain 'in the moment' with the children as they explore and learn.

Our team of highly qualified early year's practitioners create a learning environment that is rich with opportunities for children to thrive and develop to their full potential, through play and playful teaching. The children are encouraged to express and follow their own interests and the practitioners provide access to a wealth of resources in order to extend and develop their learning.
