We hope that on these pages you will get a good taste of what school life is like in our small, village school and just how exciting and engaging our curriculum is. At our school we pride ourselves on having a strong staff team that help the children become independent, resilient learners who not only have the skills for learning but become respectful citizens and good friends to one another.
The school was built in 1869, extended in 2003, 2007 and in 2009. We have seven classrooms (one per year group), two special needs/group rooms, a hall used for assemblies and PE lessons and a fantastic new library. We have made huge improvements to our outdoor areas since 2004. There is an asphalt play area and an extra, fenced, outdoor play area for children in the Reception class plus a covered outside area for the Year 1 class.
The image below shows final results data for pupils who completed key stage 2 in the summer of 2018. Ofsted's goal is to achieve excellence in education and skills for learners of all ages, and in the care of children and young people. This statistical first release (SFR) provides revised 2016 national curriculum assessment results for pupils in schools in England at national, regional and local authority level.
Plaistow and Kirdford Primary School is a happy, caring community where everyone is welcomed, valued and respected. Children and adults work together to create an ethos where learning is celebrated, achievements are shared and where we challenge ourselves and others. We match our curriculum to suit individuals to create engaged, enthusiastic students who are challenged to stretch themselves in a vibrant and secure environment.
The School caters for children aged from four to eleven years, coming mainly from Plaistow, Durfold Wood, Dunsfold, Kirdford and Ifold. Our pupil admission number is 210 pupils. At eleven, the majority of children transfer to the Weald School in Billingshurst.

In the autumn of the year before your child starts school, the Children's Services Department at West Sussex County Council will send you a preference form for you to apply to the school of your first choice.Applicants living out of county need to contact the Admissions Team (details below).
