It's about the journey, not the destination. That's why we took our name from the Amber Road trade route. It reflects everything that makes us special - from our eastern mediterranean roots, to our modern London spirit. It inspired us to channel the flavours of our travels abroad and our heritage into one dining experience.
A space where stories exchange hands as freely as the wine flows. This is Amber. Whoever you are. Wherever you've come from. You'll be welcomed with open arms at Amber. After all, it's a family tradition for founder Murat - a culture where any guest who walks through our door is met with table space, food to share and a warm, generous spirit.

Services
Generosity is the root of all good work. And we firmly believe in showing this by lending our support to charity work around the world. For a seasoned traveller like co-founder Murat, poverty is something they've encountered all too often on their trips abroad. So from day one, a decision was made to help the best way they knew how - by making regular donations through our efforts at Amber.

I'd been a few times years ago for work lunches when I worked in the area and was happy with the meal, although it wasn't life changing.
Last night went on date night with my husband as they do small plates, and I love a tapas style restaurant.
Hummus was delish with whole chickpeas and rehydrated raisins(?) and high quality olive oil. Pita was hot and fresh. Zucchini fritters were a bit bland and just a ball of mush really. Fried cauliflower was divine.
Lamb shoulder - now I really liked this, but my husband was unimpressed, so mixed results there. I thought the lamb was really

Came around 1pm/13h midweek. Not busy. Super fast and friendly service. Had one of the best Turkish coffees I've had before. The tabouleh salad was bright and tangy with pomegranate accents. The aubergine was so tender and just a delightful flavor, with the addition of the yogurt topping and spices. I had the lamb pita sandwich and like everything else it was delicious. I just might come back before I leave in a week!

Really delicious and thoughtful dishes. Although simple, the pita bread was one of my favorites. It was hot out of the oven and very soft. It paired amazingly with the hummus which was super delicious, and my standards are pretty high for hummus. My friend and I shared a number of different veggie dishes, all of which were super yummy. My personal favorite was the cauliflower and asparagus with bok choy. The coconut panacotta dessert was

Stopped in for breakfast but will definitely come back for dinner! Delicious, healthy, reasonably priced fare with a Middle Eastern spin, but also such Western dishes as pancakes, fried chicken, and even chorizo. Vegetable salads are great for sharing and highly varied. The inventive chefs turn out refined palate pleasers for everyone in your party: kids to adults, vegans to carnivores. Very fond of their coffee bar and egg pitas first thing in the morning. Well lit, spacious, warm interior with healthy balance of greenery and light wood. Lovely find!

Situated in a new development just blocks from Aldgate East, Amber is a harbinger of the gentrification of Whitechapel. Don't get me wrong, the food is absolutely delicious and has a great Mediterranean flare, but when you are paying £9 for 'Burnt Aubergine' you know what kind of place you're at.
Social commentary aside, the restaurant is spacious, airy and pleasant, with generous natural light streaming across the natural wood decor in the morning and a low lit romantic setting with many candles for dinner. The food is very good! For breakfast, I've tried their &apos
