We are based in the centre of the historic market town of Moretonhampstead, the gateway to Dartmoor. Originally a Posting Inn, for over 380 years The White Hart Hotel has offered weary travellers and bold adventurers a place to rest their heads. As individual as our guests, each of our rooms offers a comfortable, relaxing space featuring a charm reminiscent of the building's historic past alongside the reassuring comforts of today.
The Hotel features 25 individually designed en-suite bedrooms. Each bedroom offers flat screen TVs, tea and coffee making facilities and a pillow-hugging welcome. Tastefully furnished, no two rooms are the same, reflecting the architecture of this historic building with its interesting nooks and crannies.
The Mews is a separate space across from the Hotel. Perfect for groups, parties or families looking for a stay away together, the Mews is a contemporary conversion offering eight rooms and a communal open plan seating area. The Mews can be booked as a whole space and has eight bedrooms with an open plan communal lounge area.
At The White Hart Hotel we are perfectly suited to cater for groups and parties looking for a fun getaway together. Whether you are a group looking to have adventure on Dartmoor - we are popular with rambling, cycling and fishing groups - or whether you have a family celebration or special occasion, we offer flexible accommodation to suit your needs.
Dogs and Dartmoor go together - and well behaved dogs on leads are very welcome at the White Hart Hotel. Dartmoor is great walking country and we have lots of guests who bring their four-legged friends with them on holiday. Dogs are welcome everywhere in the hotel, except in the dining room but as we serve the same menu throughout the restaurant and the bar area you won't miss out.

11 of us on our holiday in Devon booked for Sunday lunch . We were given a room to ourselves and looked after so well. The meals were delicious, lots of different choices but each one superb . Portions were generous with lots of interesting vegetables served separately. Puddings delicious too . I think it was the best Sunday lunch I’ve ever had ,maybe even better than my mother in laws !!!!

We were staying at The White Hart with a crew doing a photo shoot on Dartmoor. Yuri and Miriam looked after us extremely well and gave us all the most delicious breakfast at the crack of dawn before we headed off for the day. Thank you so much for everything, we couldn't have asked for a better experience! Hope to come again at some point.
