Services
Pet Vet was established in 2002 at Thornhill in Southampton to serve the veterinary needs of the local community. A second clinic at Woolston followed in 2009. From the outset, our mission has always been to provide the best in routine and emergency health care for all your domestic pets, be they dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, fish or exotics such as reptiles (we can treat snakes, tortoises, geckos, bearded dragons, chameleons etc.)
This protects your cat against Feline panleucopenia, Herpesvirus (H), Calicivirus, Chlamydiosis and Leukaemia. Two initial injections are required, at 9 and 12 weeks, then a booster injection annually. Cats should be wormed every two weeks after birth up to 12 weeks, then once monthly until they are 6 months of age, then every 3 months.
Myxomatosis and Rabbit Viral Haemorrhagic Disease (RVHD) combined vaccination from 5 weeks of age, then annually. Rabbit Viral Haemorrhagic Disease-2 (RVHD-2) vaccination from 10 weeks of age, then 6 monthly. It is important to brush your rabbit's hind quarters and keep it clean, especially during the summer.
In the event of an emergency during our normal opening hours, please call our surgery on 02380 46 36 46 (Thornhill) or 02380 443 999 (Woolston) where you will be advised what to do next. Outside of normal working hours please call us first, as we will either be there to answer your call, or will have a message with how to contact the Out of Hours Emergency Vets.
Thornhill surgery is conveniently located close to Junction 7 of the M27 in the Thornhill area of Southampton. From the M27 turn off at Junction 7 and head towards Southampton on the A334. Carry on the A334 over the first roundabout, through a set of traffic lights and you will find Pet Vet situated in a row of shops on your left (just before the Texaco petrol station.)

Booked an appointment today for our dog, waited in the car park as per COVID procedures, the nurse came out to tell us we were next, waited 10 minutes past our appointment only for the nurse to come out again to tell us another client had grabbed the vets attention at the door so we would have to wait yet again, very unprofessional, very rude, will never go back !!

I came to this vet because I was told that they deal directly with insurance claims. This isn't true, you do need to submit the form yourself and they charge a compulsory £19 fee to send the documents to the insurance which Petplan won't reinburse. This is not want I was told on the telephone. My cat had a poorly paw so I went anyway. I am unhappy about the way this vet handled my cat. First of all I didn't like to be left outside, handing the cat to the nurse and not knowing what what done to him. I should be asked for consent before any procedure. When I was given the cat back the nurse commented
