Staff were very good, food was well presented and tasty, only disappointment was being charged for drinks we didn't order or receive. Yes it was my own fault for not checking bill at the time and I realise it was a very busy time and the staff were under pressure. I was in a hurry to pay bill before our guests could get near it. You live and learn. Yes I would recommend this place. Great atmosphere .

What a nice and convenient spot to chill at with a great ambiance. Located in the heart of Edinburgh right across the Radisson Blu hotel. Everything we ordered off the menu was exceptional! Highly recommend the Venison rump and sticky toffee pudding ice cream. They also have live music every night including Scottish folk songs. I would definitely go back if I were to visit Edinburgh again.

Loved the vibes and the ambience. The whiskey cocktails were fab and left you wanting for more. The food was perfect - the Salmon with cream sauce was divine and Whiskey burger was scrumptious.
The only improvement area will be the portion size of the fish cake we ordered for the starters - for 9 pounds the portion size was small and felt it was not value for money (taste wise it was fab).

I had looked up reviews on this place, as me and my husband had wanted to try for so long, the food looked amazing on the pictures. I had a reservation for 1.30 we arrived and were shown to our seat, the restaurant was busy but not overly. We sat down looked at the menu and had both chosen what we wanted, after 20 mins I had to ask a lady if she could take our order, she said something which I couldn’t make out and never came back, 5 mins later I had to ask another lady cleaning tables if we could order, she took our order but still after 10 mins we had no drinks, so me and my husband got

The cocktails are good.. but the food was just ok, and the service wasn’t great. Our starter was forgotten, and wasn’t put through, had to go and get our own cutlery because the waitress didn’t bring any, then at about 10pm our waitress interrupted our conversation to demand we settle the tab. Such a shame, venue itself is cool but some of the staff could do with a bit of customer service training.

Whenever I'm in Edinburgh I make it a point to come here for lunch or dinner... The place has a lot of charm, it's comfortable, the staff are friendly, it's not "touristy", and - most importantly - the food is just excellent 👌. They may not have the biggest menu, but what they have is delicious and always well prepared (I 100% recommend the Haggis Tower). It's a little on the more expensive side, but honestly we'll worth the money.

Food really let’s this place down down - don’t be fooled by the good presentation. I’m pretty sure I was served tinned potatoes instead of sautéed highlighted on the menu. The veg was smothered in pepper, leaving a overpowering and hot pepper flavour to the whole dish. You can clearly tell the food isn’t fresh or homemade. Whiskey selection is brilliant and the majority of the staff are friendly and polite.

Really cool place to have some pints, food and whisky! They were taking long to serve our food, and when we were about to ask, as people that came later got it before we did, one of the staff members approached to us and asked if we were still waiting. We got the food soon after that, I have a feeling they Lost the ticket. But didn't give us a bad impression, they sorted it out and ti be fair, they were super busy and only 3 staff members on the floor. If you like whisky, ask staff for recomendations, they will be super helpful. We tried the whisky burgers and they were delicious. It's not the

We were in Edinburgh for a few days without much time to explore all the food options. We were a little weary of trying something right on High Street for fear of a tourist trap. Whiski Bar & Restaurant was actually pretty delicious though. It was clear that many things were made in house or ordered fresh. The quality of the food was quite nice.
The vegetarian haggis was interesting; so wonderful to have a vegetarian option, but not sure we'd get it again. My boyfriend's son went for a burger and he said it was really delicious. I had the hummus and arugula sandwich. The rosemary

Maybe we just came here on a wrong night but we were not impressed. It was very loud inside which is not a deal-breaker but after waiting a long time to place our drink orders, they didn't arrive until after our entrees arrived. Our waitress left in the middle of our meal and it was hard to get anyone else's attention to pay for our meal. The food was OK, but the service was not good at all.

Edinburgh is an amazing city full of so many choices that it simply can be overwhelming to decide what to pick when you literally only have an afternoon. After walking all over the place we came upon WHISKI Bar and Restaurant and waited the five minutes until they opened. We were the first ones to enter and be seated so we had our pick of seating.
The bartender was the first to greet us and he explained they weren't serving food for another 15 minutes. That's ok, we could start drinking! We ordered drinks and when it came to order I tried the fish cakes for an appetizer and the fish

Lovely ambience and friendly staff. My friend had a couple single malt of the Islay whiskey and said they were really good. For me, I like to try the local dishes and had their classic dish of steak and ale pie. Love it.
The better way to end dinner but with live folk music from the 2 guys. They played beautifully and the place was packed from dinner hours to the late night of music and drinks.

The food is great - if you get it!
On a visit to Edinburgh with my husband and three teens we visited Whiski. Upon arriving we were told we would have to wait 40 minutes for a table. We were ok with that but could not wait at the bar because of our kids. Ok again, we walked around for a bit and our table was ready at 8:00. After waiting to be seated while the manager argued with a couple who wanted a table, we were seated and had to wait 15 minutes for menus and another 10 to get our order taken.
Our appetizers arrived quickly and the haggis tower was delicious. But this is where it took a turn

Let me respectfully disagree with recent reviewers that gave Whiski Bar and Restaurant good reviews - the place is simply not very good on every level. Drinks were limited in choice, as were the wine and beer options - could have been more disappointed, but was disappointed just the same. Food was not good at all - ordered a bread plate and a bottle of wine to start and both were bad (didn't come close to finishing either. Then it took about an hour to serve the venison, potatoes, carrots, and peas ordered for an entree. Despite being provided a very sharp knife by our disinterested waitress

Nice place for dinner and drinks that's close to the tourist attractions in Old Town Edinburgh. Somewhat pricey but the ambiance and decor suits the price. In addition to traditional British and Scottish dishes (haggis was great), WHISKI offers a large selections of whiskies, gins, and cocktails. The place also offers whisky flights and tastings at specific times.

Located on the bustling and touristy Royal Mile, WHISKI was our choice for a very nice dinner while visiting Edinburgh. All food is made from scratch on the premises and their menu offers seasonal items as well. They feature Scottish beef and Scottish fish from Port Seton. Whiski has 300 scotch malt whiskies too!
I chose the venison rump with Port-Thyme sauce and herb-crushed potatoes, £21.95. It was nothing short of AMAZING! Medium-rare as ordered, this ranks in one of the best cuts of meat I have EVER had. I was tremendously happy.
My dining companions had the Steak & Ale pie

3 1/2 stars.
Visited Edinburgh in December 2015 and went to check out this restaurant on the Royal Mile. Ordered the haggis, and thought that it was just a-okay. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be served this way, but I tasted more mashed potatoes than actual offals. The whiskey cocktail that I had ordered was pretty nice, though. Overall, could've been a better experience.
