We are a small animal practice in Withington, first established in 1956. We are passionate about animal care and our skilled team of veterinary surgeons and nurses are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for your animals. Because we love animals and strive to provide excellent continuity of care, we are open seven days a week and have access to 24-hour emergency care.

To help keep us all safe, please do not attend the practice unless you have a pre-booked appointment, or have arranged to collect food/medication.
Services
At Yew Tree Veterinary Surgery, we are a small, friendly and professional team providing the highest level of veterinary care and specialising in dogs, cats and rabbits. Our friendly, welcoming practice is staffed by a small committed team who strive to give the utmost care and treatment to all pets.
Here at Yew Tree Veterinary Surgery, we're very proud to have so many enthusiastic and dedicated individuals working in our friendly practice. We are all passionate about animals and their well-being, from our veterinary surgeons and qualified nurses to our essential support staff. Highly trained and caring, each of us has a role to play in making this a special practice for you to visit with your pet.
Our team of highly dedicated and experienced veterinary surgeons and vet nurses are devoted to your pet's well-being. Your pets are always our priority. We all have our own pets and work hard to provide the same service to you that we would want for our own much-loved animals. At our surgery we provide continuity of care, working with you to provide effective and high quality treatment.
Many of our patients are receiving long term treatment and are eligible for 'repeat prescriptions'. Usually, we see these patients every six months, although for some conditions and often at the start of a new treatment, this may be more frequently. If your pet is due more of their usual medication, please contact us no less than 48-hours before you would like to collect this.
In the event of an emergency during our normal opening hours please call our surgery on 0161 445 2282 and you will be advised what to do next. If your call is during the night or at the weekend whilst our clinic is closed, please contact MiNightVet Manchester on 0161 794 4999. MiNightVet Manchester is our preferred emergency services partner.

Have been going there for years but the prices have skyrocketed. Recently charged us 73 pounds for a bandage placed on a cut paw. No medication just a bandage.

Yew Tree looked after our cat from when we first moved to Manchester in 2014 to this week when she had to be put to sleep. They have always been polite, professional and patient, even when our cat decided to try and make things difficult during visits!
They will always be the vets we chose and recommend while we live here.

Left feeling upset and angry after a visit this morning. This practice has really gone downhill recently. I have come here for years, first with my pet rats, then my cat and now my dog. It used to be more focused on the welfare of the pets than money and now it's just following the same greedy practices as so many other surgeries. I booked the appointment two weeks in advance, and mentioned at the same time that I would need to pick up flea and worming tablets. All that my dog needed today was her regular allergy injection, which she has every few months. She was diagnosed with allergies 2+ years

Excellent, professional service from people who clearly care very much about pets and their owners. Jess was so lovely and kind towards my beloved dog, and after breaking some bad news she took time to ask how we had taken it. Previous vets have shown a worrying lack of compassion towards other pets so it made a refreshing change. Thanks again Jess, Marcy has now had surgery and should make a full recovery!

I have been going to this practise for a number of years now. The Vets and Staff here are really friendly and helpful and put you at ease. They are all very professional and are caring and considerate regarding your animals welfare. They are Informative and explain everything and always phone to check on your pet if they have gone through any procedures. I cannot recommend them enough. Thanks to all of them and keep up the good work.

This is a great vet. They saw me immediately when I caught an injured stray. Such professional staff, compassionate and friendly. What the cat looks like now.
