Ashleigh Veterinary Centre
Ashleigh Veterinary Centre has been a veterinary practice since 1963. For the first twenty-five years Ian McKinlay MRCVS and his wife, Susan, ran the practice together. Since Ian's retirement in 1987 Ashleigh Veterinary Centre has been owned and managed by Aidan Raftery and Bernard Wynne, with Matt Saunby becoming a third owner of the practice in 2007.

The practice is extremely privileged to have cared for the pets and their owners of Chorlton, Whalley Range and the surrounding areas for over 50 years, and has grown to employ nine veterinary surgeons, seven qualified veterinary nurses, two trainee nurses, six auxilliary veterinary nurses, four receptionists and a practice manager.
Services
We believe that nutrition is an important part of keeping pets healthy and can also play a vital part in the treatment of some illnesses. This is why we stock a select range of cat and dog pet food in practice, helping to take the faff out of pet food for our clients by recommending diets that have been scientifically created to provide optimal nutrition, which tastes great!
For many years the practice has provided an educational environment for veterinary students. Because of the high demand for places we are only able to provide a limited number of places for students on either a Veterinary or Veterinary Nursing course. If you would like to practice with us, please contact Carla Foulds through our contact page.
Pet insurance provides cover for veterinary fees in the event that your pet becomes injured or unwell. It can provide peace of mind that you're in a position to afford all the veterinary care your pet may need. With veterinary medicine employing expensive medical techniques and medication, and with pet owners caring more and more about their pets' health, pet insurance is becoming increasingly popular.
If your insurer asks you to complete your claim online, what we need from you will be greatly simplified. Please note the process may differ between insurers. Attach the clinical history, along with a copy of any payments you've made (you do not have to keep any receipts). Please note the processing of direct claims is discretionary and based on the relationship between the insurer and the clinic.
The practice maintains an out of hours service in case you have any problems outside of the normal hours, exclusively for our clients, from within the Chorlton practice. This means we have a vet on site 24/7, so in an emergency we have all your pets clinical records to hand and you don't have to travel miles away to a different practice.
