Priors Wood Primary was built in 1968. It is situated in a pleasing location in a quiet residential neighbourhood, on the north-east side of Ware and overlooks attractive countryside. The single storey, well maintained buildings are surrounded by playing fields and grassed areas with trees and shrub beds.
There is a variety of outdoor play equipment for the children, and two wooden pergolas provide shelter both for children and adults waiting to collect them at the end of the day. The school grounds have been designated for the study of wildlife and the environment. As a school we are committed to outdoor educational provision to enhance the children's learning whenever possible.

Services
I would like to wish you a very warm welcome to Priors Wood Primary School. This website has been designed to keep parents informed and to give newcomers an introduction to our school, staff, governors and children. Priors Wood Primary School is a friendship school, where everyone is valued and respected.
Support each other in all we do to create a learning environment where we exceed our goals. Develop and realise the full potential of all within the school, academically, personally and socially, both as individuals and as members of our community. Provide a broad and balanced academic, physical and creative education through which the highest standards for each individual are achieved.
All Governors are volunteers and have a vital role to play in making sure every child gets the best possible education. For maintained schools this is reflected in the law, which states that the purpose of maintained school governing bodies is to 'conduct the school with a view to promoting high standards of educational achievement at the school'.
Prospective parents are encouraged to visit the school during the day to see the children happily taking part in a range of everyday activities. An appointment can be made with the office staff to meet the Head Teacher and to be shown round the school or Nursery. Under the current arrangements the LEA requires parents to make a new application for admission to the main school's Reception Class even if the child already has a place in the Nursery.
At Priors Wood Primary School we work with passion and dedication to provide a bespoke curriculum which is enriching, broad, balanced, interesting and creative. Using the EYFS Statutory Framework and the Quigley Essentials Curriculum, our Curriculum is carefully blended to create a cross- curricular approach.
