Drumhillery Primary School is situated eight miles south of Armagh, off the Monaghan/Armagh Road, adjacent to Drumhillery Presbyterian Church and Drumhillery Housing Estate. The school was built in 1970 after the amalgamation of Lislea-Murphy, Madden and Middletown Primary Schools. Our school aims to provide a caring and stimulating environment for children of all abilities and to help them become independent, responsible people.
This can only be achieved by close co-operation between school and parents and there will be many opportunities for you to share and assist in your child(ren)'s education. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any additional information about a particular aspect of school life or if you wish to visit the school.

The term 'newcomer' pupil is used to refer to a pupil who has enrolled in a school but who does not have satisfactory language skills to participate fully in the school curriculum and does not have a language in common with the teacher. This enables schools to support children and parents better. The school may be entitled to more funding and also they can gethelp from the Inclusion and Diversity Service (IDS).

From P3 one to one piano tuition is available under the very competent tutelage of Mrs Kerry Ramsay, someone with many years experience and formerly of Richhill School of Music. Children are offered the chance to progress through graded examinations as desired and regular and informative feedback is provided for parents.
We have a very dedicated and committed group of parents in our 'Parents of Drumhillery' POD group. In these days of stringent educational cutbacks we are delighted to see the enthusiasm of parents in financially assisting our school. However the group also strongly feels that fund raising is not the only reason for its existence.
Numeracy means knowing about number and number operations. More than this it requires an ability to solve numerical problems relevant to everyday life including money and measures. It also requires pupils to be familiar with the ways in which numerical information is gathered by counting, measuring and how it can be presented in graphs, charts and tables.
