Services
The role of the Board of Governors is to manage the school with a view to providing the best possible education and educational opportunities for all of the pupils. This involves setting the strategic direction for the school; and taking corporate decisions in relation to the functions of the Board of Governors.
In line with maximising the learning potential of each pupil, the school recognises responsibility to care for our pupils' physical, social and emotional well-being. We take every effort to provide a safe, secure and welcoming environment for learning. We seek to equip pupils with life-long skills and aptitudes for learning.
During the admissions procedure when applying the criteria punctual applications will be considered before late applications are considered. Documents submitted in support of your application e.g. The Board of Governors will apply the following criteria in the order indicated to identify which children should be admitted either at initial admission to education or on transfer from another school.
We are delighted to be selected to be an Active Travel School. This is part of a three year project deliver by Sustrans in partnership with the Department of Regional Development. The project aims to encourage pupils and parents to travel actively to school [walking, cycling or scooting]. He will be working closely with us this year to organise promotional activities and events to encourage active travel.
All pupils in P1-7 will be participating in a new Healthy Kidz Programme. We ask that parents support this by a MONTHLY donation of only 2, raised through an annual sponsored walk. P1-7 pupils will have weekly sessions in school with a coach and will be able to track their performance via an activity tracker so that they can monitor their own improvements.
