The Veterinary Centre was established in 1945 and has been tirelessly caring for the pets of Glasgow ever since. Our Clinical Director, Leslie Snadden works alongside 4 Assistant Veterinary Surgeons and a friendly team of Registered Veterinary Nurses, receptionists and animal care assistants. We primarily treat cats, dogs and other small furries, such as rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and rats.
We do also see the occasional bird. Our whole team are devout animal lovers, so we understand how important and loved your pets are. We are enthusiastic, professional and 100% committed to providing the very best standards of care for you and your pet. It is practice policy that every pet is to be treated as if they were our own.

Services
If you are a veterinary or nursing student and would like to see practice with us, please contact Jessica Martin for veterinary students or Nicola McFadden for nursing students. We also provide work experience for school students. However, due to high demand, we can only accept school students who are interested in pursuing a career in either veterinary or veterinary nursing.
Acupuncture is the practice of inserting fine, solid needles into the pet's body with the aim to either provide pain relief, or to help tackle other diseases. Acupuncture is used to stimulate the nervous system by inserting needles that temporarily block the pain. This encourages both the brain and the nervous system to work together to produce more of the body's natural pain killers.
We don't want any animal to feel stressed or uncomfortable during their visit and try to do all we can to make the experience pleasant for animals, their owners and the staff. These cat friendly appointments aim to significantly reduce the stress experienced by cats and their owners during appointments.
Back in 2017, we partnered with Dog Days, a local doggy daycare company located in the west end of Glasgow. Dog Days provide a safe and fun environment for dogs to play in during the day, whilst their humans are at work. Dog Days also offer home boarding and grooming services for your pooch. For more on their services, you can check out the website here.
Our nurses offer appointments throughout the day Monday - Friday. These appointments tend to be very flexible, so if you wish to make an appointment with one of our nurses, you can do so, online or over the phone 0141 339 1228. If you have a general enquiry about your pet's health and you are unsure whether or not you need an appointment, give us a call and one of our nurses can provide over-the-phone advice.

Having used this vet practice for the last 20 years, I was obviously happy with their services. Until a recent experience with the practice that has left a bad taste…my dog had to attend with a problem that ended up with an expensive poo test, followed by an expensive blood test, neither of which identified the problem, followed by a prescription for an antibiotic and anti inflammatory….which cleared the issue up in no time at all. I wonder why this treatment was not tried before the expensive tests. The practice also overcharged me by £135 for 2 tests, a mistake, I am sure, however this was

I was advised of wrong price by receptionist when booking puppies in for health check, vaccines and microchipped. Was advised total would be £300. Receptionist was lovely however cam honestly say I have never experienced such disgusting customer service before when dealing with 'manager'. She basically called me a liar and demanded I pay extra cost. I tried to advise her that I only had enough to pay the cost that I was quoted.
She told me to basically find another vet for 2nd vaccine and not go back.
Must say all other staff was lovely apart from her. She has zero customer service skills.I

You can tell that everyone who works here loves their job: they take their time with the animals and speak to them gently and kindly. We have taken both our dogs here: the dog loves coming and literally drags us through the door; our previous dog had to visit regularly regularly for the two years we had her before she passed and they all made sure she had the best and most comfortable life possible.
We also take my grandparents' cat here, who they have had for the past year: he is young, has only visited the vet twice and is still a bit clueless about it, but the vets create a very calm and comfortable

Very professional. My kitten was put to sleep in a professional manner. We felt confident that she was cared for and were given time to say goodbye. The vet took time to ask her favourite food and take the toys we suggested. We found out of the 3 places she was cared for that this was the best for kindness to the animal and much quieter and better bedside manner than the animal hospital vets now.

The Veterinany Centre have been caring for my four legged family members for over 20 years and I cannot recommend them highly enough. They are not just excellent vets but they know that pets are much loved members of our families and treat them as such. The level of care, kindness and compassion for not just our pets but owners too is wonderful. I hope the Vet Centre knows how much it is appreciated, valued, trusted and respected by the local community. Many many thanks.

I love the vet centre. As a vet student I have spent some time on the other side of consults and the staff was so welcoming. I switched my cat here during a foreign body incident at the start of COVID when my last vets phone was non stop busy. They took us right on and managed his case so amazingly and listened to me when I was convinced there was something more. They had to rearrange their schedule in order to fit him into surgery but I was so grateful. He is now a regular and we love the pet plan!

I have used this vet for over 35 years. I feel I can always trust they will ensure a detailed examination and test to properly diagnose any ailments and they always follow up on progress my pets are making. Pet health plan is great value. The vets are very friendly and always able to fit you in when needed and put your mind at rest
