The Barbon Inn and Restaurant near Kirkby Lonsdale has been around since the 1650s and started life as a farmhouse. Specialty dishes using local produce with choices like Pan fried Duck breast, confit duck leg filo basket, steamed pak choi and courgette, plum and ginger puree; menu choices change with the seasons. NO payment will be taken at the time of booking, if you wish to cancelyou must give at least 48 hours notice, which is before 12noon, 2days prior to your arrival date. Changes to bookings made up to 2days(48hours)before the arrival date/time are without charge. The total value of the booking may be charged if changes/cancellations are made with less than 1 days notice or No show.
We offer both gourmet standard food and bar meals prepared by head chef Dave Scarr. Our menus include the excellent local produce on our doorstep. Its fresh, seasonal and from high quality local sources. Vegan, Coeliac and allergy diets can be catered for if prior notice is given.
Food is served 12 noon - 2pm & 6pm - 9pm Monday to Friday, we are open all day Saturday and Sunday we serve food from 12noon to 8pm and you can eat in the bar, or in the dining room which features genuine 17th century oak settles and chairs.You will also enjoy polished oak and mahogany tables with silver cutlery and condiments, and candles on each table.

W. part of the Pennine Chain.
From M6: exit at junction 36, follow the A65 (signed posted Skipton & Kirkby Lonsdale).Pass Kirkby Lonsdale and turn left at devilas bridge onto the A683 (signed posted Sedbergh & Barbon).After 3.3 mile turn right into Barbon and we are situated in the centre of the village. From Weatherby or Harrogate (Yorkshire): keep on the A65.

Stayed nearby in holiday accommodation. Place was recommended in holiday literature. Went for a special meal to celebrate a night away without our children and husband getting the all clear from cancer. We dressed up but would have been more comfortable in jeans and a jumper. We were given the choice of being wedged up to a wall by a walk through to the kitchen next to a chap with a dog and a couple with a lively toddler (this wss the main room by tge bar as you go in.through the door) or on our own in the next room. We chose the next room which was quiet but chilly. They lit the fire for us but
